Low phosphate levels

Hi I'm type 2 and taking metformin & XULTOPHY injections. I've just had my 6 month check and all the results were realy good but the doctor told me that my phosphate levels are low.
Has anyone else come across this problem before?

The doctor doesn't know the reason why it's low but he has put me on phosphate tablets for a month. And I've got to have blood tests before starting the tablets then again at week 2 & 4.
