I got the heads up about this in my emails today. Hopefully it will help spread the low carb lifestyle :) I might even have to invest in one, the recipes sound great !

Tom Kerridge's Dopamine Diet: My low-carb, stay-happy way to lose weight

Thanks to his Dopamine Diet, Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge has shed eleven stone over the past three years. That's the same as 70 bags of sugar. If you're struggling with your weight and need to shift unhealthy pounds, this new approach makes it easy, and is guaranteed to make you feel happier in the process.

Most people find it hard to keep to a long-term diet, but this one is different. The recipes feature ingredients that trigger the release of the 'happy hormone' dopamine in your brain, so it's a diet that will make you feel good! Tom's 'dopamine heroes' include dairy products such as double cream and yoghurt, good-quality meats including beef, chicken and turkey, and even chocolate. By ditching alcohol and starchy carbs in favour of plenty of protein, fresh fruit and veg, you will be eating meals that will help you shed the weight, whilst offering a satisfying intensity of flavour.

Treats in store for Dopamine Dieters include spinach, bacon and mint soup; roasted onion salad with fried halloumi; shepherd's pie with creamy cauliflower topping; soy glazed cod with chilli, garlic and ginger; braised beef with horseradish; Chinese pork hot pot; and chocolate mousse with sesame almond biscuits. These are recipes that don't feel like diet food, and can be shared with friends and family. It worked for Tom and it can work for you. Give it a go! And lose weight the Dopamine Diet way.

People who think they know everything.
I hope it's good because I just ordered it from Amazon this morning after a friend spent all yesterday evening telling me that it's brilliant.

@daisyduck - well I ought to be slim and happy already as I've been eating nearly all the yummy foods on your list already for many years and on LCHF for nearly three years... But I'm still a fatty, and currently a very miserable, unhappy old biddy. I'll have a look at the book too, though I don't usually buy recipe books when I can adapt existing recipes or find freebies on the web.

Dark chocolate also apparently can help with insulin resistance so is a double whammy...:p

Well, I'm drooling at some of those recipes :D
And I will probably get the book :)

But I have to agree with @Robbity -if keto eating automatically resulted in weight loss the I would be a size 8 by now...

I had pre-ordered this on Amazon, and it arrived 2 days ago. It looks brilliant, and I'm planning next week's Sainsburys order round it. The recipes avoid all complex carbohydrates like potato, rice, pasta, but a few of the recipes include fruit, which I think most of us would leave out.
I've been impressed by the number of very original recipes which are not like anything I have cooked before, so these aren't ones I could have picked up elsewhere and adapted.

Just read this review on the book may be relevant to those on a budget for food, This is not my review

This review is from: Tom Kerridge's Dopamine Diet: My low-carb, stay-happy way to lose weight (Hardcover)

I was really looking forward to this book, what attracted me was stay healthy, lose weight on the front of the book, here is a man who loves his food and after watching him plenty of times on the TV, his food always looks delicious and pretty easy to cook. I was so disappointed, the forward is in plain simple language and is really meaningful to people who are trying to lose weight, but within the first dozen pages I realised it was not something I was willing to do, in principle the diet is great but in practical terms, so expensive and a lot of trouble to prepare and cook, a lot of the recipes have over 15 ingredients, some 19, and the items such as wakame seaweed, dulse seaweed, duck legs, kohlrabi, Milano salami, and that's just the soup section, even things like onion flakes, Portobello mushroom, why can it be normal chopped onions and normal mushroom, also things like fish bones to make a soup, well I live in a relatively large city and also a few minutes away from my local town, and neither has a fishmonger where as he states they will give you these bones, these recipes will cost you a small fortune and alot of hassle to source the ingredients, I have all the large supermarkets by me and Ive never seen kohlrabi, when you are dieting you need easy simple delicious food that you don't mind spending too much time preparing and that you can find in the supermarket without having to find specialist shops. Sorry but I will not be keeping this book.

Ive just had chorizo and tomato warm salad for lunch. Delicious, and very filling. I had everything in except sundried tomatoes in oil, which I left out, and almonds, so I used pecans.

I'd be interested to hear how people find this book. My brother ordered it (he is not diabetic) but haven't seen it yet. From comments above I'm thinking it. Isn't not be worth it ...

If I don't have a minor ingredient I will always adapt a recipe and use what I have got.

Yes, I do that and sometimes it comes out better than the original.

Yes indeed.

I don't seem capable of following recipes exactly. Am always tweaking. And i will substitute anything, if it is too expensive, inconvenient, or not to my taste. Last month i subbed tinned pumpkin for pineapple. Worked like a charm! :D

Me too @Robbity I've been stuck at the same weight for ages now. Keep losing and gaining the same kilo. BUT. this is the first time ever I've found it easy to maintain my weight. I'd like to lose the last 2 stones so will be experimenting with fasting. Hubby does fuss if I do that though :(

Indeed! When I went for a 'light lunch' at his other establishment the coach, I was told, 'this is a tasting menu, madam' and found that each mini taste was about 12 quid! The Coach is supposed to be the cafe version of the hand and flowers!!!
