Just got a box of Accuchek Aviva test strips and have no chip thing in the box to stick into my reader to allow the strips to be used.

What's happened? Has someone forgotten to put it in the box?

Accu Chek have changed the strips to a code free system. If you don't have the new black chip you will need to contact Accu Chek who will send you the new chip which once placed in the meter, does not require removing every time you change to a new batch of strips. For a while the new chips were included in the pots, though recently they have stopped including the new chip in with the strips.

Must say, this is a very devious way of Roche getting customer's details on their database! lol

Abbott did the same with their optium xceed, when I dug the spare one out had to ring them to get a code bar to make the meter code free.
