Pre diabetes newly diagnosed

I’ve recently been told by my GP that my blood is showing me to be pre diabetic with a level of 43 (sorry he didn’t say which test it was).
Prior to bloods and still I’m following slimming world and so far have lost a stone.
GP said to carry on with slimming world and test again in 6 weeks. I’m so confused and feel like I have been hit by a bus. To add issue to this I have an under-active thyroid for at least 10 years - on meds.
Any words of advise?

Hi, you most probably had a 'HbA1c blood test'.

Hi @RachelHoneyball2020 Welcome to forums.
With HbA1c of 43 you are just into pre-diabetes levels. This could be resolved with a few tweaks to your diet.
Good that you have lost some weight. What are you eating on Slimming Work diet? If it is based on low fat and, especially high carbohydrate foods, a reduction in the carbs might help.
