[QUOTE="redrevis, post: 140663, member: 27435"] [b]Needle Reuse?[/b] Hello everyone, I was recently diagnosed with type 1 (last week) and have started my insulin treatment. I'm doing the Basal/Bolus system of 4 injections a day. During my intitial meeting with my DNS, she told me that needles can be used for 1 day then replaced and lancets can be used for a week then replaced. She said the companies manufacturing them recommend replacement after single use, but this is just because they want to make more money, which makes sense that companies want to maximise profit. But today i read [url=http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=12181&start=0]viewtopic.php?f=26&t=12181&start=0[/url] which i found in the Diabetes Medication and Drugs section. My question is, who am i to believe? Am i going to benefit from doing single use for needles and lancets are will i just be increasing the profits of these companies needlessly? How many of you only do single use and how many follow the advise like i was given? p.s why can't i use [url] code? p.p.s you'll probably see me asking lots of questions as this is all very new to me p.p.p.s had my first hypo yesterday and over-treated it,woops  Thanks *EDIT - Apologies to the mod that had to move my post. I had started a new thread with this post in the 'Questions' forum, but stupidly i didn't do a search beforehand. From reading this my questions are pretty much answered, except do people that only use needles once only use lancets as single use as well?[/url] [/QUOTE]
