People with type 2 diabetes mellitus are largely unable to make optimal use of glucose to produce the energy needed to fuel muscle contractions. Researchers at Oxford Brookes University are recruiting a total of 20 people with and without type 2 diabetes to investigate the extent to which there is a direct relationship between blood glucose regulation and physical activity before and after a week of red light therapy (photobiomodulation).

Taking part in the research would require visits to the Oxford Brookes University, Centre for Movement, Occupation and Rehabilitation laboratories in Headington (OX3 0BP).
