Steroid injections in feet

Hi everyone.
So, I have been suffering with numbness in my second and third toes on my right foot for a while now.
Been through physiotherapy (they thought it could be muscular skeletal as I do lots of running.
Long story short,it's not, and I was referred back to my doc, as they thought it was neuropathy (it's not).
It turns out I have Tendonitis and there is a small red bump running along the tendon on the bottom of my foot, which is pinching the nerve. Treatment for this is lifestyle changes (which I have implemented) then amitriptyline tablets (but I don't have pain, which is what this is used for).
Next thing would be steroid injections.
Doc is refusing to do injections as I'm type 1,and at risk of infection.
My hba1c is good, and im fairly fit and healthy.
Surely it should be my choice if I want to risk it? I'm just not sure what to do next? Any help/advice welcome. Thank you ❤️

Hi @sarahbean82 and welcome to the forums

Is this your GP or diabetic specialist or someone else? I would have thought the diabetic specialist would be the one to opine on whether it's safe for you to have steroid injections in your feet?
