Yes, definitely. And assuming levels were non-diabetic beforehand, they should return to normal levels in time, but how long a time is very individual.

I had both my strokes, prior to any diagnosis. But i did (suffer) some strange after effects for as much as a year.
Due to damage to various neuron pathways within the brain, for some time the body is working harder to establish new pathways for whatever control centres were affected. Inevitably this must be causing some internal stress, so it would be only logical to have an impact on our blood sugars.
For 3 months after my first stoke the affect of temperature, between my right and left hand was way off. I tested and found a 13° C difference, with the right normal and the left higher. This difference diminished throughout that time, and demonstrates the nerve controls repairing. some things only took a few days to fully recover.
