I have recently been diagnosed as t2. my fingers and ankles have swollen up. I have a problem........my ankles have stayed swollen for months now and I am having great difficulty finding socks that are not too tight on me. I have ended up using my normal socks and snipping the elastic in a couple of places, but then they fall down rather quickly.
I am on a limited budget so cant afford expensive socks
has anyone else had this problem?
can anyone advise me what sort of sock I need to buy please and where I might get them?
thank you

soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
There are HJ socks about, which don't have any elastic. they stay up by different knit stitches. I don't know how much they cost now, but they are cotton and seamfree too. I remember buying some for my mum some years ago. I think £10 for 3 pairs. Another possibility is to buy knee socks and turn them down to the ankles. the elastic will not be tight then. Or I just thought. Could you get on with those very short trainer socks?

I had exactly the same problem as you. My feet and ankles were enormous. My Doctor had me at all kinds of specialists, nothing helped. I couldn't get any shoes on, and I couldn't have walked anywhere if I had. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I hit low carbs the very next day, two weeks later the swelling was gone, completely gone, and now my feet and ankles are the normal size again. If you are going to do low carb, give yourself a couple of weeks as you may find, like me you won't need new socks. I wish you well, swollen ankles are so painful.
