Hello there,
I have started dating an awesome guy who has type 2 diabetes. I've been doing research into his condition to understand it more, but also because of the common issue of Erectile dysfunction (ED). We have discussed this issue and are taking it slowly and will experiment with medical treatment as and when.
I am an open person on this subject and would really like some advice/feedback on this issue to help my new man the best I can.
As well as it being a medical issue, could there be psychology issues that we can overcome together? What did you do?...What medical aid did you take? For how long? What dose? Etc etc...

it's good your boyfriend can confide with you, I would suggest that you go with him if he wants to the erectile dysfunction clinic ..they do it all day every day..but it still can be embarrassing to get an appointment and seek treatment

Hi. I suffer from this problem . I was diagnosed about 2 month ago as type two and now I know why I have been having these problems . I mentioned this to my GP and he was great. Prescribed a tablet similar to Viagra. I would mention it to his GP on next visit . Don't feel embarrassed. They deal with this daily. I take 1 tablet 20 minutes before sexual intercourse and for me it works.

I used to have major problems with ED and as a man it was a struggle to overcome the embarrassment of discussing this with anyone even my GP. My doctor put me on Viagara but didn't work so I had my testosterone levels checked twice in the morning and both were below normal and was sent for specialist care and am now put on Tostran 2% testosterone gel on my skin and feel rejuvenated again lol. GUYS do not feel embarrassed or alone out there, there is help out there and overcoming the silence is the first step.

Teki this for most men is a taboo subject, it's psychologically difficult for a man to announce the for want of words is to him a loss of his manhood. For me my major symptom was a total loss of any interest in sex, my girlfriend used to think it was all down to her and I made excuses not to be intimate. My issues were hormonal due to low testosterone levels which have been corrected. Men who have the desire but no boom boom generally are hyperglycemic or have some issues with their nerves. All can be treated. Diabetes charities need to promote this issue as men are reluctant to talk or see a doctor for ED. It can cause low self-esteem and affect relationships so it is good to be open with your partner. Good luck 2u2
