Using Accu-Check Insight with CGM

Hi
I currently use a Medtronic Veo & Enlite Sensors (CGM).
I've been informed by Medtronic Switzerland (where I'm living) that they will no longer replace a faulty Veo ie they are forcing everyone to move to the 640g
As I don't like the 640g (too big) I've been looking at the Insight.
After reading the manual I noticed 2 problems:
1. Active insulin (or ‘insulin on board’) is not displayed either on the pump or the handset
2. The ‘bolus adviser’ (or ‘bolus wizard’) takes a BG reading only from the built in blood meter. This means that it’s not possible to enter BG readings from my CGM into the ‘bolus adviser’. This means I am forced to either use the built in blood meter or don’t use the ‘bolus adviser’.

Can anyone confirm these 2 problems?
Is there any work-around?

Thanks
Paul

Hi Paul

The Insight has the capability to multi bolus, so you can be running a multiwave and also add a standard as well, in fact as many standards as you need. I've not seen a display for IOB but never felt I needed it.

The bolus adviser only works with the handset, only other option is to manually set it via the pump. The handset will NOT accept BG manual input.
