The Airfryer Steak Revelation has hit hard.

I have been rummaging in the freezer today counting how many we have, and while my (steak) lunch was cooking, I worked on the latest supermarket delivery order, and chose more steaks... could get expensive.

The standard sealed packs which are very suitable for freezing claim a 227g pre cooked weight. That isn't enough for me as my one proper (main) meal of the day, would have to add something like an egg or two.
The butchery counter offer hand cut steaks and they can be ordered at 200g or 400g or 600g.
Our local butcher does fabulous steak, but they never have ribeye :( and they are pricey.

Decisions, decisions.

I ended up going for a mix of pre-packed and butchery counter steaks, with a view to finding out how the 200g and 400g ones actually arrive. I can freeze them each individually in clingfilm, and they will take up almost no freezer space...

Todays steak lunch (227g, cooked 9 mins per side) was again superb, so that confirms that last night's meal was not a one-off. Not ribeye, but didn't check the label to see what it was.

The dogs (who get a tiny morsel each once I have finished eating myself, in their bowls) are in disbelieving heaven.

@maglil55 thanks for the kind thought tbh I am not brilliant. I did succumb to that large spoon of baked beans with my roast chicken last night and my fbg today was 7.4. It was in the 6s the previous 2 days though I had stuck to not more than 20g carbs. I have been persuaded it might be the Codefree and have today ordered the Tee 2. Now I am worrying what if its not the Codefree after all. I was only open to the plan as I had opened new pot of strips at the weekend.

It might not be if you are testing two hours post food and getting a decent number. It is easy to get into a food rut. I am guessing with the porridge twice you might be by yourself. Forgive me if that is presumptious. Have a look at Diet Doctor for some ideas. If you like eggs they can be a saviour and easy and versatile to cook. Best wishes.

The Funsgters wizzard wheeze plan for chaps wot can't eat proper has OMAD for Thurs. B=bulletproof tea then more tea then *** 5.9@ 2 hrs - epic fail Jasey babe - fbg = 5.1 (Meh). L= mongrel cinnamon cappuccino including some Alpro Barrista almond milk - what is sugar doing in there? pre = 5 2 hrs later = 5 .2 - unbelievable Jeff. Somewhere in the morning I was 5.7 so bad morning that far. Food fairy was hors de combat by 16.15 when I was pretty hungry so I learned how to use the air fryer - not broken afterwards so all good. 300 gms buffalo sirloin, few cherry toms cooked in 100 gms buff fat, 2 portaloo mush and Bernaise sauce from M and S (2.2% carbs whole pot = 180 gms - finished as I was a v hungry caterpillar) 5.2 pre dinner - not great but still content from yesterday.

Yes the plate is naff but all the nice plain white ones packed for move. I hate patterned (basically all non white really) crockery with a vengeance and Julie knows this:bigtears:. Steak was cooked for 11 mins @ 200. Perfectly serviceable for a muppet.

I've had two go rogue on me before. It's a wait and see and try not to worry about it. You know stressing pushes it up. I could lend you my grandsons to demonstrate mega stress!! Hugs xx

Forgot to add, since you kindly asked, that was not the last instalment. Another date with the camera in 3 months then, hopefully, increasing intervals for 5 years. If it happens my all clear could coincide with GB being all clear of that thing in N0 10.:)

Evening all.

Lunch today was - drum roll - bacon, eggs and grated cheese. Two course dinner - small starter of moo grob which was much improved from my first attempt. Main course was 2 air fried chicken thighs.

@Brunneria once the stocks of meat in my fridge are exhausted, I’ll be experimenting with air fried steak from the freezer. Sounds divine.

I had a latish lunch of full plate of salad, some chicken and loads of cheese.

i have also had two pieces of chocolate 85%, a few almonds and lots of water.

tomorrow is a big test as I am working from noon to 10pm and again on Friday. I have been informed here will be no catering, so Tesco for some boiled eggs at lunch time and maybe a tuna salad. I have pork scratchings and almonds with me and there will be coffee, water and almonds.

I may even treat myself to a bunless Big Mac, salad and water meal deal. or maybe a suitable meal from wetherspoons.

it will all depend on how long we get for lunch.

Evening all. Today’s DD plan was 2 meals so just black coffee for breakfast. I’m getting to quite like it now.
Lunch was rushed, didn’t even have time to see what I was supposed to have. Went to the Eden Project social walking group this morning, a good hour lovely walk and coffee afterwards. 10 mins to eat a single portion of Brie, a h/b egg and a few walnuts. Took a packet of M&S chorizo crisps to eat in the car as I went out again. This time to another Eden group: Nature Art. Just craft type things and chat. Quite enjoyed it
Dinner was https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-oven-baked-meatballs-with-cauliflower-slaw a strange combo. Not sure they go together really but I like the cauli- slaw and will have it again. Another lovely addition of fennel seeds @shelley262
@PenguinMum I do hope the Tee2 solves your issues, there certainly doesn’t seem much in your diet that would cause problems.

Sounds like you will certainly have earned a Weatherspoons mixed grill or similar!

I am having a salad, cheese, tomatoes and a can of tuna in spring water.
With the odd pork scratching here and there.
A pint of water to wash it all down, water intake has been excellent today. Exercised only once today and a walk to the shops and back 1/2 mile
Also spent a couple of hours assembling flat pack furniture, which I immediately took apart for return. Usually not a pleasant thing, but kept me busy for a while, so all good.

Insulin
Last night BG was 7.6 and FBG at 5.30 today was 4.1 - in the lower 4's I start to feel pretty bad so when I got up I was very hot and bothered, staggering and very shaky. Couldn't see very well either. So I had a boiled sweet from the emergency jar and fell asleep in the big kitchen chair. This brought my BG up to 8.0 by 9 am.

At that point I decided to have breakfast (I was going to the dentist in town so thought I'd better fortify myself) so I had insulin and 2 scrambled eggs. Back home at 11.30 BG was 4.3.

Lunch time BG was 4.6 and I had more insulin and some liver pate. By 3.20 it was still 4.6. By 5.10 I was shaky again and tested BG. It was 3.9. At 7 pm, after a biscuit, it was 6.2. Then I had more insulin and 2 mackerel fillets with a creamy mustard sauce. A little while ago it was 5.0.

Still thinking about the pattern. BG rises in the morning until I eat (or until I take insulin) and stays high if that first meal is very late. A line worth following maybe.

Surprised to have such low readings (for me) today. I'll reduce the short acting insulin a bit and we'll see how it goes tomorrow.
