Several graves visited. Parents' grave about 30 yards from where we lived until 2013 when I inherited and remodelled their bungalow - too many walls and too much plaster for me. Dad's brother's grave a yard to the right of their's, one set of my grandparents and one set of theirs within 10 yards. Anglicans buried in the Parish churchyard (famous for Dorothy L Sayers) and a part of Cambridge famous for the folk festival. Cakes for the gels caked - substantial slabs I'd say. Small family business so happy to support that. Also had a range of breads including sourdough, rye, sunflower seed but no full ingredients list nor nutritional details. No danger of me going off piste with most cakes but a bite or two of a quality slice of millionaires shortbread would be worth the 30 mins rise and return to base.
I have to inform you that the majority of our families are interred in the dead centre (literally) in our borough.

Thanks and yes our GP is.
6.8 this a.m, pre everything, as usual on a Thursday.
Three phone calls to and from social services this morning. And it seems to have awakened the 'team '. Another phone call due tomorrow or early next week, to arrange home visit for another assessment, not only for Mrs L but for me as well.
The doctor has also put in process, falls team, occupational therapy, sleep team and a couple more that has slipped my mind. Oh yeah counselling for Mrs L, but she refused. Also to get her out more!

#8 called in and had me laughing into a good mood. His language skills are very proficient for his age. At thirty monthe, he is asking for things, making requests and talks about his things and toys. I have seen it in girls, but not a boy. Maybe because of his older sister and cousins could have done this.
He is still a ragtag tho!!

Fish going in oven for tea.

It's bloody chilly out there, windy with the odd showering through. Cold weekend upon us.
Have started planning to upgrade a part of my back garden, which will keep me busy, and hopefully work out as my front garden has, it will brighten up that area.

I do feel better after doctors, phone calls and counselling.

My best wishes to you all as always my friends!

Can't believe it's 43 years.
Distinctly remember fluffing my lines, which all hands noticed and give me gip all day!
Seems as though some help may finally be on the (hopefully near) horizon and not before time. Wasn't sure about giving the dead centre quip a funny but since you used the term I thought I'd go with the flow.

It does!
I spent at least a minute getting the doctor to actually listen about the almost lack of follow up from the specialist appointment back in early January. I believe I gave her some motivation.
I wasn't nasty or pig headed, just some facts.
We now have scheduled another appointment with her in five weeks time. I hope. She did insist for some reason.
I am hoping.

Good morning everyone from yet another dreary start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. No reading - been up since 4am so really no point. The cause of my irritation is yet to rise to consciousness but is certainly obfuscating in there somewhere, being difficult. I shall walk it off. 2nd part of the Shingles jab yesterday - these tiny jabs, although undoubtedly useful, have caused more after shocks than when I was being jabbed for all manner of stuff by army doctors and had to bribe the mitochondria into staying on instead of hastily abandoning the ship. Hey ho. The Girl In The Bubble will be round this afternoon so a bright and cheery afternoon is on the horizon. I wonder what artistic offerings will be on display today - we have already had carefully crafted Easter Egg cards, Easter bunnies, and a very funny Easter teapot sporting a little kangaroo like pouch containing a real tea bag (who knows what goes on the in the minds of reception class teachers). Art bit - still using up surplus ink, over poured. Hope your Friday is a good one - I’m tacking mine onto the short weekend and pretending to be all continents. Best make some koffy.

Very sleepy couple of days. Still tired all day yesterday and tending to doze off. Sat down to watch a TV programme I wanted to see but woke up with the following one showing. Turned it off but later turned it on again for another one I wanted to watch. Woke again well after it was finished. Sorted myself out, tidied away things from the work surfaces that should hav e gone straight back into the fridge and went to bed about 23:45. Sat on the edge of my bed to say my prayers and woke up, still sitting, at 00:30. Got into bed and went out like a light. Woke up at 05:30, stiff as a board. BG at that point was 7.8.

Promised Em I would make her some vanilla cupcakes today and then was asked to make some food (soup and a large cake) for a children and mothers party on Saturday. I wanted to do some baking but didn't have a reason. Now I have. Cupcakes in the oven just now and will start making soup soon. I need to get it out of the way early because the charity shop men are coming later and I don't want to be messing around with food while they are removing furniture. Larger cake may or may not be done before they come.

Time for some tea and breakfast.

Just as well I am walking better today.

Hugs for all that @Annb

That's quite a high level of exhaustion I'd say, if you don't have any underlying reason to just drop off so quickly .

Maybe you're doing more than you think with all the to-ing & fro-ing of late ?

Maybe try to be a little more restful, if possible to regain some energy....tho with your kind heart, I realise you may not listen to such nonsense.... :bag:

Be well & enjoy the day.

Thanks for your concern. Perhaps I think that, at 78 I should still be able to do as much as I want to do despite my poor level of mobility. My elder brother, coming on 82 and a year after major heart surgery, is much fitter than I am and still gaining strength, although his return to full strength took much longer this time than when he had his first heart surgery 43 years ago.

Actually, I do think there is an underlying cause. Not sure if it is thyroid, anaemia, or some other deficiency. Blood tests show I am on the low side but not too low on several counts. Not enough for doctors to do anything. I'll have to go further into it next time I have a blood test but I don't know when that will be. Last time I asked for help, I was told there was nothing wrong with me and the locum GP didn't want to ask for more blood tests because the levels he had on the computer were all within range - just. He also thought my BP was fine and so was my Oxygen, even my pulse which I could feel was racing. I had just had to push my wheelchair along a long hallway, carpetted hallway which provided a lot of friction to overcome and was gasping for breath. He checked my BP within moments of getting into the consulting room, with me leaned forward so that his BP monitor could reach my arm. Not the way I was taught to take BP! I guess he was taking the reading and taking into account my exhausted state, realised that the readings would be inaccurate anyway, so just made a guess. I don't think he's there any more but I suspect it's another instance of ignoring the elderly because they are too much trouble and/or expense. Cynic!

Good morning from California! TGIF.
Happy spring, more rain ️ for 4-5 day.
Friday morning 4.55 mmol/L 82 mg/dL. Seems like I am back on track. Once FBG is up, it takes days to come down.
Breakfast= 2 eggs omelet with green onions, mushrooms and half slice sourdough bread. Black tea with little milk ( no sugar). Have a nice day everyone

Morning all from Little America where even the rain can't be bothered to fall properly today. Intermittent spitting is a new variant which eloquently sums up these dreary times. A long, painful audition for leadership of an increasingly deranged rabble where actually governing and the national interest are utterly irrelevant. Meanwhile, the nation awaits a new set of passengers for the ministerial cars, helicopters and private jets who might actually do something about the whatsit show engulfing the nation but will inevitably end up the butt of jokes, target of tasteless insults and bitter bile. @Annb

I know we all need varying amounts of sleep but that seems to be under 6 hrs and other days you appear to have much less so dozing off doesn't surprise me. I'm constantly amazed at how late people here post being one who wants to be abed by 10.00 pm - often well before. Right, I need to be tea boy. You've all done very well.

Yes, you're quite right Ian. I do go to bed late and sleep for a very few hours when there. That's the arthritis to blame for that. I leave going to bed so late because if I did go to bed at 22:00 I would have to get up again very shortly after midnight. That just doesn't feel right to me. Pottering around in the kitchen around 01:00 is quite unacceptable. It does lead to me dozing off frequently during the day but to me it seems that some days are just ridiculous and I just can't wake up properly all day. Maybe I just need to make keep busier to keep myself awake.

Hug for the obfuscation and thanks for sharing the art. Have a wonderful time with TGIB - those times are truly golden. God forgive me if that excludes and causes pain for some.

Good afternoon all. Now that was nice and shouldn’t cause offence, never mind.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.1 .

I had to fend for myself yesterday evening and that innocent statement meant I had to go and purchase ingredients for my evening meal.
Now my local supermarket has a large self service section and long queues at the manned checkouts.
It is possible for the technologically incompetent to use the self service checkouts provided staff support is given. Are you guessing where this going. Thought so.

Yesterday evening an obese, long haired, bearded old man tried to follow the instructions on the self service checkout, some swearing at the checkout just after the checkout locked itself down ensued . A staff member hastily arrived and went into head scratching mode, finally giving up and summoning a supervisor, both these members of staff puzzled as to how it is possible to cause this much chaos and mayhem on a supposedly idiot proof system.

The solution to this problem is simple have more manned checkouts open.
No I’m not saying how I caused the lock down, but it is not rocket science.

Now I must go and plan my next foray into the technical world.

God keeps improving the idiots.... apparently .

(No I wasn't, you thinking my eyes were looking at you was purely coincidental...honest. )

Been there, done that

Think bill burr has a tale on that

Simply wheels his trolley straight out to his car without paying

Says IF they treat us like we work there, don't give us training on shop protocols & technology, they can't be surprised with the odd little hiccup or two.....

And the worst thing that can do as you load up the car ...?

Is they fire you....haha

Late to the party today.

Fbg in the very early hours was something...I've forgotten now.

I had planned to go on a sketching expedition this morning. I had my hot breakfast and a flask of tea with me. All good so far. Went to the docks. Half way through my hot breakfast and drinking some tea, I noticed a dark car coming into the car park, there were loads of cars in the car park, but he was carefully choosing a space and he tucked himself away into the corner (a he or she, the windows were tinted at the front as well).

I had alarm bells a bit in my head, so I shut my car door, and locked the car. I finished my breakfast and had another cup of tea, but I wouldn't have minded leaving my car door open because it was sunny, but it was very windy. The person did not get out of their car and I kept an eye on it. I had intended getting out of the car and doing a bit of sketching of the river, but once I don't feel safe in a situation I abandon my plans.

At that moment, a man on a bicycle (there were loads of cyclists coming and going, but they were genuine cyclists if you get me) came into the car park. He cycled around every car, peering into the windows. He didn't come near my car because it was obvious I was sitting in it. And then, as he cycled out of the car park, the dark car with tinted windows started driving after him. It was obvious the cyclist had separate escape routes and I have no idea of the outcome....

I came home and I was very tired so I went back to bed to go to sleep and I have been sleeping all day. I didn't sleep properly last night so I did need to sleep. I feel like I have wasted a day because it's been sunny and I should've been in the garden or I should've done something else. What I should've done was not even go out this morning. ...

Now, to see what I can salvage from today…

And top it all , I have had a text to say that the 'post office' have a package for me, and this is not addressed properly, and that they need me to click this link to give them the correct address. Really??? But the thing is I am expecting a package between today and Monday. I know the sender of my package and my package will be addressed 100% properly. And he never puts my phone number on the outside of the package. And according to the tracking, my package is actually at the sorting Post Office now. I am obviously assuming this is a scam. How did they time these things so well. I've never had a text message like this ever before. And I receive letters and postcards most days, so my address is pretty well known to the sorting Post Office here. And even if an address is damaged they figure out it's me and I get the item in a plastic bag with an apology and sometimes I wonder how I get some of my items because there's not enough of a recognisable address, because the item has got damaged in transit either from machinery, or someone has actually torn the stamps off the envelope or the postcard. I collect interesting stamps and so do the people who I send my postcards and envelopes to, and they get the same damaged things at times. Unfortunately, it is a risk.

But it is my hobby and other peoples' hobby...

Wildlife nighttime camera.
Foxes & Cats & Badgers
42secs

Creative...alas no sketch today, but before I shut the car door in the car park, I did manage to photograph three dandelions on the ground so that is my creative for today...

The cat is asleep on top of me, he doesn't think I should get up now... do I listen to him or not?

A cup of tea first, I think from my bottomless flask.

I am definitely staying in for the next few days, no trips planned until midweek or later....

Have a good of whatever is left of the rest of your day...
