Help Change the Future for Type 2 Diabetes Treatment

The aim of this study is to expand knowledge of diabetes and explore ways to improve future treatment options for people with type 2 diabetes.

Participation in this study may improve blood sugar control and may lead to weight loss.

Diabetes is one of the most serious health problems of our time. People with type 2 diabetes have a 2-4 times increased risk of heart disease, therefore to understand the efficacy and safety of new diabetes treatment Medinova Research are seeking people with type 2 diabetes to take part in a clinical study.

Patients included in the trial will receive comprehensive care via regular health checks and medical testing, access to free trial medication and blood glucose testing equipment as well as compensation for their travel.

They will also receive an inconvenience payment on some visits.

To join the trial, you must be:

  • Over the age of 18
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Taking 1500mg or more of Metformin a day in total
  • Your HbA1c is between 7.0 and 10.5
  • Able to attend up to eight clinic visits
  • Be willing to travel to either:
    North London Clinical Studies Centre at Mount Vernon Hospital, HA6 2RN,
    or
    The East London Clinical Studies Centre at Romford, RM1 3PJ
    or
    The South London Clinical Studies Centre, Queen Mary’s Hospital, DA14 6LT

You will not be eligible for the trial if:

  • You are on Victoza, Liraglutide, Pioglitazone, Janumet, Januvia, Saxagliptin or Sitagliptin and Linagliptin
