Good morning @JohnEGreen and all my other friends,I have been to every chemist 5 in all in my town and they have all stopped selling them as they are saying since last year when the doctor started supplying them,I explained to each shop that the local doctors only supply them if you are type 1, I phoned my doctors surgery and explained my situation to the practice manager and she said has anybody told you to test and I said yes all my friends on this forum, she said I meant the diabetic nurse or your doctor,I said we haven't got a diabetic nurse at this practice she left, but they are replacing her in the near future and my doctor said there is no need to Test,I said I am testing to find out what food suits me the best and is within my comfort zone,Oh she sais all she can do is to ask the doctor when he is free and she will ring me back,(Yea and pigs might fly)LOL so here I am waiting impatently for either mt stips to arrive by Royal Mail or the phone call from my surgery, enjoy your day;)

Possibly a post code lottery, my little Boots in our local shops (Hazlemere) still has them on the shelves, they also have consumables, just twice the price that I pay over the internet.

Good afternoon @bulkbiker my friend I will say this only once) LOL,I do have a SDCodefree and I like it but this is the second day with no strips and I have decided to purchase another meter just as a emergency backup,as I am having a great deal of trouble receiving them by Royal mail, the post here is terrible and unreliable,I wanted one from my local chemist so that I could get the strips there if needed, but I am not paying £14 for next day delivery , when I could spend the money on more strips;)

Good afternoon Doctor phoned yours truly and I said you rang my lord LOL sorry couldn't resist that.he said your bloods are perfectly Normal .your last test results confirm that, you don't need to test.sorry but you will have to purchase your own:)

Spirit healthcare will give you the Tee 2 meter for free, lancets, test solution, lancet gun, spare batteries, pc lead, 10 strips, pc software, all of it for FREE. The strips are then £7.75 for 50. Not quite as cheap as the codefree but a lot more accurate in my opinion.

Tee 2 meter for free,

Good afternoon @Jamesuk9 thank you my friend much appreciated:)

All done cost for one Tee 2 meter ,strips and lancets £11 75p

Hi @Bluetit1802 my friend being a poor old pensioner I'm afraid my pocket won't run to that much money on one outlay, but your reply is very much appreciated as always:)

It's a very capable meter, made even better by being free for the meter and all accessories except spare lancets and strips.

I started off with the codefree but found its accuracy questionable.

£7.75 for 50 strips is a winner for sure and I use this meter all the time now.

Happy to help, hope it doesn't disappoint.

I got one from our diabetic nurse at our doctors yesterday has my other meter broke. Apparently everyone is being put on this meter in our area, been using it since last evening easy to use so quite pleased with it upto now

No our surgery are changing everyone to Tee2 never heard of it before I had an Acc- Chek Active before this, the new one is easier to use.

And do you get Test Strips and Lancets on prescription for this meter?:)

I ordered a Tee 2 the other day after seeing your post and it has just been delivered. I am not a fan of the Codefree either so will try this as a back up meter. I will stick with my Fastclix stabber though. Thank you!

I just tried out my codefree again this morning. 5.9 on tee2, 5.8 on accu mobile and 6.9 on the codefree.

Again reinforces my opinion that isn't accurate.

So, the meter and 250 strips were a complete waste of money imo.

I do not want to identify trends, I'd just like a better level of accuracy which just doesn't seem possible with the codefree.

In the bin it goes.

@Jamesuk9 I have just done a random test using the same blob of blood.

Tee 2 - 5.8. Accu-chek Nano - 5.8

Might be a fluke, but very interesting.
