Hi Duglas99. I know it is just a moan, but dont you think your going a wee bit over the top If your wife reads what you have written I sure she would say rubbish.
You could have sorted that slight problem out straight away.
The pressure of Christmas may be getting to you.
Have a lovely Christmas with your family and do not moan because it is not really you .

Sounds like you are all feeling a bit sorry for yourselves what would your partners relatives etc think if they knew you were moaning about them on a public forum not very happy I would imagine. It's Christmas so no more moaning chill out and enjoy yourself
Have a Happy Christmas everyone

lol, so you didn't read the thread? i wonder would you have taken our side if the conversation were reversed? :) this wasn't about men and women this was about moaning about living in an unsupportive relationship, but its become a man woman thing? lol, i assume being the fairer sex that there is a lot more unsupportive men than women out there but maybe I'm wrong :) and it dosent sound like douglas (who i nearly always disagree with hehe) is being unreasonable, it sounds like he's suffering and i feel his pain, personally i believe i have caused my own situation by not expecting enough for so long, i could explain but you don't want to hear it and i don't want to say it hehe

Yes that's exactly how I read it Andy about having unsupportive relationships male of female but I don't really understand how you define unsupportive
It can't be just because someone forgets about the food which seemed to be what the OP's original post was about
It's worse than beating your head on a brick wall.

She's organised dinner, well a low carb chicken sauce for me. Which is very good but that's all for me. They're having jacket potatoes with theirs. She never does any veg. I gave up and made a curry.

Even better, the sauce she chose for theirs, has 180g, (yes 180) of sugar in it. I actually measured that, it's two mugs full. Total carbs is even more. She was actually quite proud of that.

Then, she's bought a new "sea salt" grinder. Everything, especially chips, taste better with salt. The kids repeat it like a mantra.
It's now the third one in the cupboard.

So, can I secretly, a little bit, deep down, just a bit, hope it comes back to her one day?
Or is that bad of me?

I should add, all the kids, and her, are all thin, active, healthy, so it's not a health problem, but she's quite pleased they're picking up her eating habits, and "she's ok, the doctor said so at her health check"

Surely you must be pleased your family are healthy and that can only be good

i dont think it was about food, i think it was about being shown consideration

of course i am, the only thing that matters to me in this world is the health and happiness of my wife and kids, i love them all, my wife is an amazing mother, simply amazing, and that is enough for me, it would be nice to have a little support from time to time is all im saying, but its not important enough for me to consider leaving my kids ever, but it helps to get things off your chest from time to time or moan :) i intend to get more and more moany the older i get lol

All this moaning does nobody any good.

Try being a widow/widower and then you will really know what it is like. Nobody to moan about. I wouldn't care if my deceased husband helped or hindered me in my control, I would love for him to be here.. I can't expect my kids to be interested and I never make a big deal of it. Any decent restaurant will always knock up a salad or give you extra veg instead of potatoes, rice etc... and you can always prepare something at home. Eat what you can and leave the rest if there are no options.
Get real, I think the stress of Christmas is getting to you.

Yep, I intend to carry on moaning.

Lie you say, we don't always agree, but it's nice to find we have something in common, and better to let off steam on here, with like minded people, who understand what we mean.
Just had Xmas dinner, so I'll raise my glass now, and have a drink with you on this.

We're all different on here, but also still all united, and I wish a Merry Xmas to everyone, and I hope we all have a good new year!

Moaning does us all good, on a forum like this the simple act of typing out a few feelings can relieve the situation.

My husband has no clue at all. He is great, funny etc in a lot of ways but has no idea about health and food. He is nearly 6 feet tall and weighs 10 stones. His favourite food is plain white rice or lettuce. I lost 3 stones. He hasn't noticed, I could swing naked from the chandeliers and he wouldn't care. He took the children to Thorntons to buy my Christmas presents!!!!!!!! I had said I would have a treat over Xmas but 5 boxes of chocolates isn't what I had in mind.

OMG! I really need a good telling off! I have a supportive partner who really tries to understand my situation, he is caring and although he doesn't always get it he really does try. So my problem? He sometimes drives me nuts with his "Be careful love, make sure you eat at the right time so you don't go hypo". He even reads the labels in the supermaket and is endlessly patient with my nonsense. Now I realize I am an ungrateful b***h who should be more thankful. I am really saddened for all of you who don't get the support you need. Life is **** sometimes ain't it? :(

Hi popsy, with you on that, my mrs always saying you ok, you tested, have you injected etc grateful for the support and concern but sometimes ott. Reading all this wouldnt have it any other way.

Oh lord, what yah gonna do? :hilarious:

I know what it's like to have a partner who isn't the most supportive when it comes to diabetes. My fiancee, bless him, has the sweetest sweet tooth of anyone I've ever met, and throws junk food down his neck like it's going out of fashion.
But, I am aware that it's difficult for our partners / spouses. There are so many diabetics out there who DON'T adhere to any kind of diet, and proclaim to be able to eat anything. I have friends are relatives who treat their diagnosis like it's just an annoyance that doesn't need any particular attention. So it makes those of us who do give a **** about our health seem like moaning minnies.

My overall view though, is that my body is my body and my fiancee's body is his body. It's up to him what he eats, it's up to me what I eat. Sometimes we eat the same stuff, sometimes we don't. I don't pay much bother to what he's trashing his body with, and he doesn't pay much bother to the good stuff I eat.
LOL maybe it's because we're not yet married that I don't have cause to moan much. Maybe by this time next year, when I'm a Mrs not a Miss, I'll have a totally different opinion.

I'm sure she would say rubbish also.
If fact, you sound very like her.
I think you may be right, and I should not have used the word "rubbish"
Sometimes things come back in your face, guess what happened to me yesterday while we were driving to visit our loved ones.

best of luck
Roy:)

Me and the Mrs. are off to the ex wifes for the day. Stereo nagging.

Have a nice day peeps.

But you love him and I am sure he loves you so at the end of the day thats all that really matters...love the swinging from the chandelier bit think thats fairly typical ..like when they comment on something you are wearing and ask if it is new when you have worn it a dozen times before

I'm very lucky, actually. I've got a very supporting girlfriend who is 100% behind me and my low carb lifestyle, as are all my relatives and friends. I couldn't have chosen better people.
