Pesky dawn phenomenon

Tried it all, nothing stops it though the amount it changes by can be low but also go up by 4-5. Have ended up on a pump to try and sort it out. Much better because I can change background when I need to.
But I bolus to shower most days!

Or is it the physical activity of showering? I've noticed that on Hair Wash days, my waking - breakfast rise is higher. More scrubbing? Arms above head? I have a lot of hair, so it takes a while...

Possibly- or it's the fact that getting in the shower tells my liver I've actually got off my bum and I'm starting the day proper. (Got very short hair but shaving the incredibly hairy legs is on an industrial scale effort).

Lol. I epilate.

The stress levels are extreme (agony will do that), but it only happens once a month, so I reckon my chances of pain induced stroke or heart failure to be within acceptable limits.

Aren't cashews the worst nuts to eat? They've got the highest carb content. Try Brazils or almonds instead!

I'm loving this experiment!

Sun. Waking 5.8, pre breakfast 7.0 = +1.2

That may have looked bad but that was the lowest waking value you had so the variance was skewed and the pre-breakfast was comparable to to the cheese. Think you need to run it a few more times

Can I suggest you ditch the cheese strings for a box of Camembert for really good cheese breath :D

What I really want is Stilton.
What I would get is a divorce.

And yes, I need more data!

B*ll*cks.
Didn't know that!

O well, I'll go at least a week on these cashews then change to Brazils. I actually like them better. I only chose the cashews because Mr Palm Beach Diet recommends them as the most nutritional nut.

Hey ho.

Everything I've read says cashews should be eaten with caution!!

Here's my spreadsheet of carb values for your reference....

:wideyed:

Thank you!
That is awfully high carb on the cashews... Good gracious.

I will look up the fat content of Brazils - hopefully it'll be a match made in heaven.

I like hazelnuts because they are very high in monounsaturated fat (HDL) and also arginine which stimulates the pancreas

Interestink.

Although I must admit that I have mixed feelings about stimulating my pancreas. Poor thing is overworked as it is due to stratospheric levels of insulin resistance. I always have a mental image of my beta cells lying around in exhausted little heaps, then someone shouts 'she's eaten carbs again!' And they crawl back on to their feet and brace for action...

rofl that reminds me of a woody allen (sperm) sketch - thanks for the big grin this morning
google it as I wouldn't want to post it in case someone gets offended

I thought that too but was too shy to announce my dirty mind to the forum!

Well it is only dirty in the minds of the prudes. As far as I am concerned I like mine exactly where it is ;)

Hello, hope no one minds me butting in on this one, but I also struggle with DP- so much so, it has messed up my whole morning routine as I haven't a clue what to eat or what order to do things in to keep blood sugar stable. I have been pondering on the idea of a few almonds on waking, has that helped anyone? Any advice? What's the latest on your research Brunneria?

What treatment are you on? I'm type 1 with DP. I use insulin to correct but also exercise to use it up. I don't actually eat breakfast as that just complicates it during the week.
If you are not in insulin and type 2 some people say eating something as soon as you get up helps to stop it. I think Brunerria uses cheese strings. Sounds like something with protein helps a lot of people.
