Are private conversations moderated?

Can one of the moderators confirm, are private conversations moderated?

Someone sent me a link to a low carb forum. One day the link was there, a few days later it was censored.

I can't find terms of use for private conversations, so it would be good to know whether they are private or not. I'm asking in a forum post rather than by personally contacting a moderator as it would be beneficial for all of us to be aware of the terms of use for private messages and whether they are, in fact, private.

Yes, I've been worried about this too, are PM's not PM's?
 
The problem with a question like this is .......there needs to be moderator online to answer it.

How strange. I think I have posted links on this forum to recipes on another low carb forum (lowcarbfriends) and not been censored.

Shocking if private messages are not private.
 
i know one of our moderators dosent have internet connection, lol

id have been killed in my sleep if pms were censored

amazing i havent been invited to be a moderator yet huh
 
Somebody, somewhere will have access to all areas of the site. From a legal standpoint, someone will need it. I imagine that would be staff, not volunteers. Assuming the only thing being removed is/are particular website urls, it's probably an automated process, thereby whenever the url is present in a message, it is automatically removed, a bit like a permanent Find & Replace process..

I'd be astonished if messages were being read regularly.
 
I have just sent someone a message with a website address in it. See what happens :watching:
 
These are the terms we agreed to when we joined:
9.3 Any content you input or upload to our Website will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and we have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such content for any purpose.
 
Hi Sam,

This question has come up on the forum many times before, in the past we have had reassurances that PM's are not monitored or moderated (from Admin) so as far as I'm aware they are private.
