This time 5.0 before 2 hours 7.7 I dont know what happend? 3hrs 5.7 where do these changes come from.........

Bearable figures I suppose :grumpy:. He he

5.7 fs AND ABOUT TO TEST AGAIN :)

More weirdness

Fasting of 5.7. One hour post breakfast it shot up to 8.7 ... so I immediately took off on a three minute walk (and no more than that) and tested again as soon as I sat down. It's 6.9.

I just do not get this but it clearly suggest I have to go for a brief walk after food. Anyone else experience this ?

Mike

That's the recommended time to walk. Diabetic or not. Also drinking water helps reduce your bg

I'll test again in another hour but I'm just lost understanding why.

I just voted in our state elections and got caught behind an idiot who couldn't understand simple directions on how to complete the form so that set me off ... stress methinks

Could be mike. That does it for me. Off to bed. Night

notsosweet, my readings in the beginning were over 30 but they,ve come down with the help of meds and knowing what not too eat
yours will come down
Thanks Ally, all back to normal now thanks to Jack's advice and a bit of discipline on my part. Had to come off of the metformin though as it caused a lot of problems and I got dehydrated and low blood pressure etc due to continual trips to the toilet.
I hope you are ok x

I wasn't expecting that, no one listens to me about taking drugs and is why I said about the 2 week hard core :)
if you get meds, you don't need to hard core the diet as much, the atkins 20g of carb a day is hard work, 50g is a lot easier and up to 100 I think is still low carb, but some sensitive people will still put on weight at 100g carb
Thank you so much Jack! I hope you are well!

sounds like you've had a busy fortnight ..I forgot to tell you, you need to buy bulk toilet paper for the first week of metformin:)..ask the dr for slow release metformin, if you are able to take it and most people can after an initial upset, it is one of the better drugs.

so tell us all, how normal is back to normal and what diet/drugs are you doing?

Hi Jack, No I was already on the metaformin for about 5 months, just made me too ill, (I have a very sensitive stomach at the best of times) I even had to cut out the lansoprazole so its back to just diet alone now.

I took your advice and modified my diet and cut out the carbs and within a week everything was back to normal. I also used coconut oil and cinnamon. I did buy a meter though which I find very useful.

How are you?

I'd say after 5 months, you gave it more than a good shot, you're one of the few that can't take them.
you may find you won't get the stomach acid with LowCarbHighFat, I only get it with alcohol now.
if you get reflux, I put a brick/s under the head of the bed, to make it higher so that the bed is on a 4" slope, this stopped it.

I'm so glad just the reduced carbs did the job for you, with weight in the normal range, it resets your long term prognosis

My Bg is good, I get my A1c this week and I hope my triglycerides are lower and hdl higher than they were 6 mths ago, even though my total cholesterol was only 2.7 .. my weight is stuck between 102-5kg [more diet motivation, too much protein and 'just this once' carbs.]
