[QUOTE="AndBreathe, post: 710518, Mr B has been to do his final bits of Christmas shopping. He’s sniggering about the contents of one particular bag, so I can’t wait to see what’s in there!! (Perhaps I should be feeling a bit nervous[/QUOTE]
You MUST tell us what it is when you find out ;)

Good grief, another 5 pages! 5.8 again - 4th day running now.

Finished work for the holidays now, on train back home (free wifi now on First Great Western, woo hoo - that's me not the train, but I'm in the quiet coach so it's just in my head). Might have to do a couple of days though at some point, projects never sleep :(

Happy Holidays Rod. Or should I call you Mr. Consistency. Let's hope it comes down again now you are on holiday.

Thanks for the welcome Sable Jan.

I was diagnosed last Thursday 11/12/14 by my GP after a fasted BG test at the surgery of 11.5. After discovering this forum, I ordered a Codefree meter and accessories.

At 92kg, I am ashamed to say that I'm about 3 stones overweight. I took control of my diet immediately, strict control of carbs and cut out all snacking, just three low-carb (or no carb) meals per day. I've twice had a couple of glasses of red wine.

I was put on 1 x 500mg Metformin, rising to 2 x 500mg yesterday.

My morning (fasted) self tests since my meter arrived are:

Tue 16 Dec - 12.1
Wed 17 Dec - 10.8
Thu 18 Dec - 10.3
Fri 19 Dec - 8.6

Is this too good to be true? I haven't weighed myself yet, but I've definitely lost weight. I'm almost scared to test tomorrow am in case it goes back up!
Hi and welcome :)

Couldn't find xanthan gum in our Sainsbury's so ordered some on eBay. Dearer for same size but next up is a lot less relatively speaking. Thanks :-):-) whoever suggested it, can't recall and too many posts to scroll back thru on app.

Well the only thing that I have done differently this week consistently is have that half glass of juiced BITTER GOURD. My number after my walk this morning is 4.6. :D

Yesterday had to get a sandwich from Greggs before business meeting. TUNA CRUNCH brown bread I was only 6.2 after two hours.
Maybe it is a combination of everything, exercise, diet. accumulative sustained focus. I am NOT working out in a gym though. All I do is my two mile walk which has got brisker everyday as I have got fitter and stronger.

Thanks for all your support and guidance, legends members and management team. HURRAH!!
Great result @beatdise! :) well done! What is bitter gourd and where can we get it?:)
