"Liked" but the usual caveat. Hadn't thought of meds impact on fibromyalgia

I know Metformin can cause lactic acid build up and part of fibro is thought to be too much or too much sensitivity to lactic acid in muscle tissues.
It is implicated in panic disorder as well which I also have and if has been far worse a few hours after taking each dose. I was ok on one, ok on two but started feeling rubbish on three. Went down to two which was better for a bit bit now I just think I have so much of it sloshing in my system that I never get a break from it. I've lost over 4st so don't think I need such a high dose but I have my HbA1c in January so will see then and hopefully sort it out with GP. If not I'll be changing GP and/or practice as can't say I've had much support from my surgery with either the fibro or diabetes.

Sorry yo hear about no support from Docs Ethyl. Part of my genetic disorder is tactic acid build up and i know its not plesent. It can be a real nightmare at times. I have Mitocondral Cytopathy Melas mutation m.3243 A>G

A 3.7 for me this morning, after a higher than usual post-dinner reading last night. I was 3.7 before bed. I don't normally test then, but the post-dinner just made me want to be extra careful.

It's getting a bit busy here, with Mr B taking control in the kitchen (fine by me!). I have been doing lots of little jobs around the place, with a last clean up in the kitchen and bathrooms to be done before tomorrow, when we have guests.

We have enough food to feed the 5000, and we reckon we will only need veg, dairy and the odd store cupboard items, before we go away. Such are the states of the fridges and freezers. It seems all thoughts of moderate shopping went out of the window when we invited guests, but I'm always keen people enjoy themselves.

If I'm not in evidence later, I hope everyone has the day they are dreaming of, and see you all on the other side.

Santa; bring it on!!!

4.7 this morning so that's 3 days under 5. Tomorrow will be a week since my strict control and low carb started. Just goes to show what it can do in a short period of time.

Welcome and what a TURBO charged start you have made my friend. CONGRATULATIONS. Another example of how discipline can make a contribution. Of course you are fortunate to have made such great progress so quickly and that is your own personal battle, as does everyone on here. So BEST WISHES for your continued success.!!

MikeD try using QuitNet.com it really helped me when I gave up, I used the daily email system it has to receive the calculator updates to tell me how long I'd not smoked for, how many cigarettes is not smoked, lifetime saved and the biggie how much money I'd saved to date... 5 years of nonsmoking for me now, good luck and HRT helps a LOT

Thanks. I have a previous though as I lost about 15kg back in 2003 by adopting a <20g per day low carb diet and running. Back then I wasn't diabetic though. This time round going for a <100g per day carb diet coupled with running. My battle is to try and maintain whatever I achieve over the next 12 months.
