Hoping on Monday to get tests underway as it's the really violent headaches, eye pain and since the other day stabbing chest pain now, not eating and nausea!
Hope the symptoms ease before then, Monday is a long way away :(

I have had all of them bar the not eating - I feel for her as it is frightening and so debilitating. Does she breathe properly? When we are anxious or low we tend to hyperventilate or sigh a lot and that effects our blood carbon dioxide levels and it is this that gives us many of the odd physical symptoms that accompany anxiety or depression. Our muscles go into spasm especially in the chest area and back and of course this makes breathing worse so a vicious cycle sets up. I've had MRI scans, ECGs , 24 hour ECG monitoring, scans , eye tests etc and it was always just anxiety. The nicest thing any medical professional ever said to me was the cardiologist I saw after an emergency admittance who said my heart was fine, it was just anxiety but it would have been far easier for him to sort my heart than it was going to be to sort anxiety and he wished me well. So she needs support from the health care professionals to enable her to tackle this and start her journey to leaning to deal with it. I wish her well and if I can help at all just shout xx

Thank you CE....her breathing and shaking were really bad in the early hours of Sunday! I'm hoping we can get things moving on Wednesday x x

Not brilliant rod, sleeping a lot though so I guess that could help more, due back at gp Wednesday to hopefully start investigating the cause more. Think they now see that to be so low and like this at 15 1/2 isn't exactly right!!

Hi Kimbo,

Here in Australia I run a charity that works in the area of prevention of anxiety, depression and suicide in children and young people. It is not uncommon for children around your daughters age to have mental health issues. There are so many changes going on in her brain around that time, particularly in the area that covers emotions. Depression at that age is not uncommon either, sadly.

Firstly, I want to say this is not your fault, as parents we tend to blame ourselves. All of us have different levels of resilience and coping mechanisms. The best thing you can do it to get her some help. I looked up a couple of uk sites that have good information and links. Hopefully these can point her in the right direction.

Also a link to a very useful video clip from Andrew Fuller who talks about signs and symptons;

I hope these help.
