Thank you. I don't post here often as I find my dawn phenomenon demoralising. Have been taking milk thistle before bed to see if it helps. Not sure yet if it does.
Hi avocado sevenfold, I too stuffer from it... It drives me insane....so I would love to know if the milk thistle works.

7.2 this morning been up most of the night with chest. Bad news guys had nasty asthma attack yesterday now in hospital :-( so posts might not be great.

Not a very good start to the year. I hope they let you out soon and you get better. Hospital food raises the BS and tastes foul too. ;)

3.9 for me this morning.

My major problem at the moment is I haven't a clue what day of the week it is! Every day feels like a Sunday, so I'll probably be better when Sunday is actually here.

Hey ho. If that's the worst of my problems, it surely signals life could be a lot worse on Planet Breathe. :D

Snap. Yesterday was Saturday all day for me.

@Sable_Jan to me it would only be useful if the solution was specified as having an equivalent BG of (say) 6.2 mmol/l, then you could routinely check your meter for accuracy and drift. But they say they can't manufacture such a solution and guarantee its consistency when packaged into very small bottles. I can understand why the meter accuracy is limited though, it works by reaction between your blood and some enzymes embedded in the sample slot on the strip and the electronic manifestation of that reaction. From that point of view I think we should be grateful that we have something as cheap as it is that is capable of getting within 10% most of the time.

Anyway, 5.4 here this morning, happy with that.
Thanks for the info. Not much point their calling it a test solution.

5.3 and sat here with a stinky cold ..... teach me to go out and about spreading goodwill over Xmas and New Year :p Seems I got a little more than I bargained for while doing so o_O
Still:happy: bright and sunny down here in the Forest, so can't really complain.
Happy New Year all xx:joyful:

Not nice. Get better soon. x

Hi All
First of all happy new year to everyone on the forum, looking forward to 2015 :)
I havent been here for quite some time, was not feeling absolutely great and was extremely busy with work.
As far as readings go I dont know whats gone wrong with them
I only get two or three readings no matter what time I test
6.0 6.1 or 6.2
just saw one 5.7 in all these days in last 10 15 days
have changed nothing in my diet at all, i did not even relax my carb intake on christmas or new year, it was the same of about 20 to 30g
I still feel something is not right with my machine may be as such a constant 6 is not looking nice no matter how much carbs i eat or avoid it just stays there
Any suggestions please

Have you tried a one off test with a high sugar food/drink on its own, no other stuff with it? Other than that, if it were my meter and me, I would say it's stuck! Or is it the strips?

Do a test on a sugary drink - literally dunk the end of the test strip into a drop of coke or lucazade. :)

If there's nothing wrong with the meter... Then it must be you. ;) Maybe you are so totally on top of your carb control, your beta cells can cope? Or maybe you are 'reversed'?

If so, I'm green with envy.:D

Thanks for the suggestions
I will try coke tonight and see what happens but is diet coke ok as I dont keep normal sugary one's at home anymore, although I think i might have a lucozade which might have even expired by now if it does expires as I used to get them but never had them even when I was not diabetic
How can I be reversed at such high constant level, is it possible?

It would have to be full sugar, not diet.

But if you've got some sugar in the house, just stir 2-3 tsp sugar into some water (sorry, but guessing at quantities). That's gonna work the same... :)
