I wasn't too sure at first @Adelle0607 - but now seeing it as a positive! My last hba1c end of October was down to 38 and gp suggested in December trying without, I realised the other day it means I've really done well in just over 6 months since I started this journey!
Well done on the hba1c result! Very happy for you @kimbo1962! Yes I've been seeing better numbers for you recently xx you must be very pleased. Hopefully it'll be okay without the meds. Forward and downward :) !

Welcome to the group. I also used to think it was primarily sugar that was the problem. After hanging around here with these fine folks, I learned that the big evil is highly refined and processed foods (cheaply produced simple carbohydrates).

I was diagnosed in May of 2014, and had an A1C of 8.4, was put on metformin, found this site in June and educated myself in the ways of LCHF with the help of everyone here. Stopped my meds (on my own) in September. My last Dr. Appointment was in late November, got 'the talk' about dropping my meds (she was not happy ). Then she looked at my A1C results and it was 5.2.... To which she said I can stay off my meds.

BIG thank you to everyone on here for the great advice and support!!!

I'm feeling great, loosing weight and very happy!!
Congratulations, hope you can keep it up,

That's a bit higher for you this morning, but I'm guessing reflects the less perfect meal you had last night. Whilst it's not ideal when we move off our ideal meals, it is good to remind ourselves from time to time what happens when we do.

I know you're due a big shop sometime soon. I'm doing the opposite now, trying to reduce down from 2 freezers to one before I go away in a couple of weeks. About this time in two weeks I'll be eating some weird, weird, weird combinations!

(Edited out a question I've just seen the answer to in your signature.)

4.2 for me this morning. That's right in the middle of my personal range, but feels like it's also a liver dump, as I have that low grade, characteristic headache. Never mind, another cup of tea and it'll be gone.

Today, I have to go to the "big city" (which is actually a very small city), then a quick sortie through IKEA. Mr B played a blinder there. IKEA is his most un-favourite place in the whole wide world (well, apart from BVI customs, but that's a different story!), and having gone back to Paradise on Thursday, he "suddenly remembers" something he wants from IKEA. "Could you just drop in, before you come out?" Ahem. To be honest, if I have to go there, I'd rather it was on my own anyway. It's just so traumatic whizzing round the place at the speed of light, as he gets more and more irritated by the strollers and errant children.

Play nicely boys and girls. I could say it's almost summer, but that would be a big fib!

5.5 this morning after going to bed on 5.3 and not going higher than 5.9 all day!
First day meds free.....must update my signature later and catch up with all your posts too, busy morning as I have my induction at the homeless centre
My recent averages :
7 days 5.6
14 days 5.8
30 days 6
Pretty decent given it was christmas !!

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. 7.0 this morning rice krispies and soya milk for breakie.
Had a sleep study done last night to check my breathing over night cause that's when my chest is bad. Waiting for consultant to come round with results.

And your current trend is decreasing..... But, please don't panic if your numbers rise a couple of notches over the next couple of weeks, as your body gets used to doing it's own thing, without a helper. It may not happen, but if I change my diet (I know that's not quite what you're doing), my numbers go up a smidge for a few days then come back into line. Those few days are a bit uncomfortable, but for me, they pass.

Morning Jan i did have half a small M&S dark dark dark chocolate bar yesterday when Dad and little brother came. Forgot to check spike so will try to remember when i finish it later. Hope your ok.
