Coca Cola and Sauces Safe ?

I was in the pub last night and my mate reckons coke was invented by a chemist and it initially had a small amount of cocaine in it in order to get people addicted and make repeat purchases.

Is that true?

:eek: I like a little bit of HP on my well grilled or oven baked bacon n egg .
Really ? "TUT" - another thing to give up on then . :(
 
I always used to clean coins with HP sauce when I was little. Brings them up like new.

I do enjoy a dollop with a sausage, but having tested the meal with and without the HP I have thrown the bottle away. :(
 
My mother always used to reminisce about how much nicer coke was, during her childhood.
She looked like she'd sucked a lime the day we kids explained why....

Aah... Happy days!

:wideyed::eek::arghh: Well you can guess what I am doing now ?
Whizzing the 2 HP bottles in the bin .
Tomato ketchup and salad cream okay huh ?
I only had and used a small puddle of it too .

We have a thread derail with this one I realise .
If you all wish we can do a 'sauces' thread to further discuss this ?

While you're at it you'd better throw out the tomato sauce as well.....................

"We are going to clean the pennies with the ketchup. Put a little ketchup onto a plate. You want enough to cover an area about the size of 3-4 pennies. Place some pennies into the ketchup. You may need to add more ketchup to cover them. Let them sit for a minute and then (this is the messy part) rub them with your fingers. I strongly believe our grandkids won't believe how we poisoned ourselves with sugar.

Nobody, that I know of, drinks tea with 8 sugars.

Hot or cold water .

Even lemon slices with a slim line tonic water ?

Yes. I read about it many years ago. I didn't read Adrian's link, but I heard that cocaine was advertised as giving "buoyancy to the mind". Sheesh!
 
Gin is another!!!! I clean my diamond rings in gin, as did my mum and her mum before her. Just pop them in a glass, leave them over night. No need to rub. They come out sparkling clean.
