Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Nah, I'm not on insulin. It's annoying because I went to a lot of trouble to get extra strips. Even worse there was no chance of turning around to get the meter. It was hiding in its little black case, in disguise on my desk.

If you're flying from Heathrow, Gatwick, or the like, you will probably be able to pick up a meter and enough strips to last your trip in Boots on either side of immigration. If there aren't enough strips "home" side, you could ask them to call and check air side before you buy, if you really want to rst when you're away.

Just a thought.

5.30am 9.1

8.30am 8.9

10.50am 8.7

Looks like I need more sausages

5.0 at bedtime. 5.7 this morning.

I wish I could discern some pattern. Sometimes my morning level rises, sometimes it is the same, sometimes it falls. Having or not having a suitable bedtime snack does not seem to change the random variability.

And now I had a call from the doctor's office. I need to go in to discuss my cholesterol so it is obviously raised since last time. I am just feeling so down. I am tired to death of never spontaneously grabbing something to eat and now it's going to get worse. I am already on medication.

Please excuse the whine. I don't talk about this to anyone in real life so it's lonely and scary.
Hi moniker, your bs readings are pretty good,so no worries there !
Your hdl above 39 is considered normal to below 125.
Ldl below 100 is considered normal to 50
Triglycerides below 150 to 45 is normal
My own figures: hdl 1.24
Ldl .75
Triglycerides 1.14
My doc said wow how are you achieving such good figures........( after previously doubting the value of lchf diet) i just said oh eating wisely and he said good keep it up ::))
As a group on this forum ,the diet advice of lchf has been put to the test( i'm an example)and it works.
All the best for your doc' appointment ,and let us know how you get on please......ps ask for a printout of your results.

No apology necessary, that's the great thing about this forum. :-)

It does get really hard at times. When you've tested out your meals a few times and found what is ok for you do you write them down? That way you'll always have a record of what you can eat without thinking too much about it. If you can keep a store cupboard of ingredients that will make some of these foods quickly that can help too. If you like frittata they are quick and easy to make .... most of the ingredients I use are in the freezer (frozen veggies) eggs and cheese always in the fridge..... omelettes are quick and easy to make too - cheese and mushroom for example... If you bake try some of the low carb recipes out @Brunneria posted a lovely cake recipe and a VERY quick chia seed chocolate pudding...

Hope this helps somewhat and when you are feeling down you can chat away to us - we understand...

Take care and I hope your day gets better - and don't forget the morning bs is always the hardest to get any sort of control over

Not really sure! GP talks in "old money" she says! Said was an average of 10. Added the Forxiga 10mg to my never ending list and referred me to Consultant just in case they don't lower it.
Im going back next week so will ask her for the proper hba1c

last time I eat rice!

been nodding off at desk ever since ;)

Have you got any close family or friends to talk to if not batter our ears :).

We're all allowed a little whine occassionally - I always keep a container of nuts handy to dig into when I feel the need to nibble!

5.2 this morning - was expecting higher as I had 2 squares of Lindt Orange and Almond Chocolate at 10.00 last night!

Fasting -
Monday: 6.3
Today (Tues) : 6.4

But I'm also seeing some much lower pre and post meal readings today than I have for some time...
