Wednesday 3.9mmol/L at 6.15am.

AJ10 yes we should. I have not seen comments such as you describe, on this thread, and I believe , if any did appear, they would be quickly "disappeared" by the thread umpires.

I don't want to derail...but as I've become fond of the people who post on this thread & trust their judgement...may I ask a question, knowing I'll get an honest reply. Why is there some snobbery between those with Type 1 & Type 2's? I've witnessed some terribly hurtful, unkind & condescending comments which have shocked me. However we came to have this disease, surely we all should be sympathetic & supportive towards one another's mutual condition.
Hi AJ,
Was it on this particular thread?
I'm usually quite sensitive of such, and I haven't really seen it. I did notice it on another thread, shocking to say the least, but not here.
I am aware of it, and unfortunately it starts within the healthcare system and society, where T2 is treated sometimes as "oh, T2 on meds and diet only, uhmm...". We are still quietly treated as first of all being responsible for landing on this T2 planet, as overweight/obese, who should lose some weight and do some more physical exercise...
I've had the looks, and the uhmms...

Happy to say, never on this thread. Other posts, definately. AND also personally in real life. X

So I decided to cut as of today:
-milk (replaced with double cream)
-tapioca GF bread (replaced with nothing:-/)
-continuing zero sweeteners

Intentionally a bit overzealous on cheese and yoghurt, I'll see the results before bed and FBG tomorrow.
Interesting though, coffee with cream doesn't cause the lightheadedness caused by sugar/sweeteners and milk, and after a generous lunch of minced turkey stuffed peppers in tomato broth with big dollop of Greek yogurt, caused a full belly, but no dizziness and tiredness;-)
We'll see:-D
I'm liking the sound of "continuing zero sweeteners".... but that just might be me.
I'm really getting into just filtered black coffee... might even be becoming a coffee snob... hmmmm.
Good to hear the cream isn't causing you grief.

Hi yes very pleased with those numbers in fact pr dinner was 4.7 and i haven`t seen it that side of 5 for a while and the head aches now i have a better understanding of whats going on its a lot less worry
Good to hear OM

I've not ventured too much, if at all, into the T1 world and my understanding of their issues is poor. I've really stuck to the T2 as it's my own experience. It is a pity to hear of such comments as they are completely needless... makes you wonder sometimes.
Best
Hj

Hi HJ,
As promised I tested 2hrs after another late supper;-) and it was 5.8
Also quite interesting, after several proper coffees -ground Colombian- with double cream, the coffee didn't cause the bits of heart rush which forced me to cut my afternoon brews;-)

Try decaf coffee or tea. Maybe herbal tea might help

Hi Lou, no, it's quite the opposite:-)
Having coffee without any sweeteners and milk, but with double cream, makes even late indulgences Ok, so it might have been sugar/sweetener plus caffeine the culprit...
I'll see how it goes.
I love herbal teas, been having them since childhood, in my ancestral home we learned using them for both enjoyment and medicine.
Decaff, tried, atrocious;-)

Hola @Alisonjane10

Boy you've opened up a can of worms (for some) there and it is a debate that could derail this thread - not that it bothers me as this one is T2 specific - there is a general thread on another forum open to all but the extra 'chat' on here works for me.......

NB - I take it I am only on parole regarding posting my fasting blood sugars so off topic is ok (powers that be permitting it's skewed but not off topic).

.....T1s and T2s are lumped together via insulin. You are educated enough to know that is as far as it goes and for example, @Pasha ban on my posting fasting levels in right in this forum and the context it was meant in. If it was the open thread he wouldn't have posted. I am a big fan of the fitness forum but feel unqualified to give advice to T1s as a T2 who has formulated his own regime for works for me (terribly formal that what what what).

What I can say is that the vast (very vast majority) of people on this site have come here to benefit from real life experience that was lacking elsewhere be it T1 or T2 and then pass on their knowledge to others. Any animosity between the two is generally shown by people who know to much (in their opinion) or to little (in other peoples opinion) or are just plain morons.

What I can say and what I'd like to say are two entirely different matters.

I DARE YOU TO FIND AN APPROPRIATE FUNNY UPLOAD!

Decaf is the only coffee I drink both instant and filter. I have been drink herbal tea from quite young, I think my Grandma started me on rosehip and honey so I must have been under 9.

I honestly tried decaff, but after a few decades of the real deal, I couldn't get used to the back taste. Glad it works for you:-)
Oh, rosehip, the panacea for all colds:-D
We used to eat them late autumn after frost, when they sweeten, also prepare jams of it;-)

Stick the finger, save the 'child'. can read a number of different ways headmaster.

Hi there Baruney, the house arrest was simply that, you were supposed to stay inside your house for three days. You would be free do do as you please, make love, make war ,whatever. As Merrylizard correctly said, the 2 year sentence means ...........

Also, who in their right mind would even entertain banning you from posting here for 72 hours. I for one rely on your keen english sense of humour to start my day on the right foot.

By the way I said "Spare the stick, spoil the child." and not "stick the finger' and in my very old fashioned
english there is a great difference.
