Just made sure ponies and donkeys were indoors cos it's a horrible soggy night.....they're all snuggled up.together, bless them. Look so sweet and relaxed with each other. Mr Doodle Do on the other hand is perched ON TOP of the coop.....shouting his head of the silly bird. So you think he needs his wings clipped? Hope it doesn't hurt..... Reminds me, we must find out local farm animal vets number, maybe the farmer had it, just in case we.need it....
I've locked up and put the cups away. Whose is that MARS BAR in the fridge? :O

As the weather has turned chilly I quickly finished the last two jumpers for the chickens and nipped over there with them, had to give them all a wipe down beforehand as their feathers were a bit mucky from the mix of poo and straw in the coup, they all looked so cute in the new woolies but that bloody cockeral didn't get one the noisy little beggar, still crowing his jaws off! Left baby wipes on the table so first in there tomorrow feel free to clean them up if needed, put fresh milk in the fridge and please nobody pinch my double cream and strawbs I left them as I need to sleep at the shed tomorrow night. Anybody else staying over there? Just got back to my flat and even though no heating on it's a bloody sight warmer than the sons big house, night everyone

Morning all. I've fed the animals, put some milk in the fridge and have arranged with farm shop for a delivery of a sack of carrots and bales of straw sometime today, free of charge!, see you later x

Felt bad about not giving the cockerel his wooly so just nipped over and put it on him, it's a bit nippy today and couldn't bear to think of him shivering, now he's warmer he might not crow so much. Still no eggs though. Will someone put the heating on please it may be chilly when I arrive there later, off to the beach now have a good Saturday everyone, catch up later from the shed

Hi Ladies
Quick update, saw Jem the farm lad, he apologised for being late and the state of the coup, stables and coup now pristine, as you will notice he has moved the nests forward by an inch so any nesting poop will fall down and out the bottom of the coup into a collecting tray, which should keep their nests clean, so no more dirty feathers. He also says we are feeding them too much should be one scoop of food twice a day, so has rigged up a counter system so we all know when they've been fed, he's clipped Roddy's wings so no more top of coup crowing, and he says Roddy should settle in a few days and stop his incessant yelling.
The lads have finished the fitting of the weather vane generators on the shed, and we now have enough battery power to last for 48 hours even if everything is on full pelt, the hot water panel is working so now have hot water for the bath and sink. As no one said which vanes they wanted have chosen the "Witches on Broomsticks" for one end and "Trees" for the other, they can be changed if you want.
If the door of the cupboard round the hot water tank is left open it should take the chill off the shed even in the worst weather so no need to leave the fire burning in the grate all the time.
Have put an electric duvet on the bed so if plugged in for 5 to 10 mins before retiring you should have a nice toasty bed to get into.
Let me know about the pigs asap, as will have to set up a pig ark well away from the veg patch and move the compost heap, at least it won't need heating, best place would be down in the corner by the big Oak and Chestnut trees, as pigs like both acorns and chestnuts.

I have put a cake in the fridge, a chocolate tort with ground almonds. Don't worry it's a magic carb free cake

I noticed someone has left a kindle on the bookshelf...not sure if it's for everyone's use...we need post-it-notes, or get the noticeboard up

I think all piggies are cute so leave the choice to you.....

I know where we can rustle a couple of pigs think they will fit in back of car if I put the seats down
Awww, Chris....you have given me an idea though....Pig Rescue Centre.....even a nice sized donation will be cheaper than buying from breeders and giving needy piggies a new home too....

I take it the piggies are coming, ok just give me a few days to arrange for the arks and fencing to be delivered and erected, whilst I cam do the impossible almost immediately miracles take a bit longer. Don't know who owns the Kindle, found it on the sofa.

Good job you know about piggies, what's an "ark" only heard of the Noah kind...

We'll its safe in the shed...the kindle that is.....Chris' torte is calling me but doubt I'll get to the Shed tonight. Late with woofs' teas. Got a new foster boy....he's a scaredy grumbly baby but he HAS eaten his tea. Am sure he'll soon come round. Dad & partner paid deposit and first month rent on a house, had to move into bedside and put most of stuff in storage cos landlord can't get previous tenants out.....

I'll save you a slice

Right have ordered the arks 2 of, as I don't know how many piggies are coming, and sows won't share, fencing ordered, rubber mats for flooring ordered,
If you ever pass a field with pigs in, their houses look like a half moon made of corrugated iron, they are called arks, closed at the rear end and a half closure on the front.
Meant to say the new flood lights on coup and stables are automatic, they will come on at dusk and go off at midnight as will the new lights beside the path coming in so no more tripping up in the dark, and the one by the door is on a sensor.

Just arrived from Anglsey, the shed feels nice and warm so you must have left the cupboard door open SD and an electric duvet on the bed ooooo pure luxury thanks. There's a gorgeous looking cake in the fridge, thanks Chris, anyone mind if I have first slice I'm starving, it's hungry work building sandcastles and trying to keep two little ones out of the water, it's sub zero that ocean and the wind didn't help. Lovely day though and sure I will sleep well tonight with all the luxuries and no disturbance from Roddy SD the chickens look cute and CLEAN thanks for that. Weather vanes look good and hot water, wow I can have a bath and wash the sand from between my toes and elsewhere. So comfy here might just have an early night as it's Saturday and never anything on tv, have my Kindle a book and magazine so a nice hot cuppa to take with me oh and maybe another slice of Chris's cake, yum. off for that bath catch up later. Ouch! Have we got a hammer? Just caught my big toe on a nail sticking up near the fridge if I can find a hammer I will bang it in, I'm pretty good with a hammer. My bath's going cold catch up later
