Thanks SO MUCH!!! I knew when signing up that this is a UK group. Obviously that did not sway me from joining. Your data points are AWESOME!

I read somewhere that anything below 5.3% is handy dandy. I am at approximately (blood glucose - A1C calculator) 5.4%. Much better than when admitted to ICU with over 8%! I am with "lovinglife -" Your A1C is actually a titch low.

Eek! I don't want my ears to look mutilated, ya'll. Lol! I am starting to get squeamish about this option. I am a wuss when it comes to sticking myself as it is. But I tell ya . . . on those days when you just *know* that your blood sugar is wonky, this may still be a viable option. Can...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.2 - much improved since hospital stay when it was 8.3. I am new to this, so I am learning all the time. I want to get the A1C back to where it usually was - 5.3

    How Long?!?

Exceptional advice - thank you! I need to test more often. Getting used to this is not easy, especially since I play music. But I will take your advice and hopefully in a week have more data to add so you might be able to help further. Thanks, again!

    How Long?!?

I have been taking Januvia for about three weeks and now also MetFORMIN for about two weeks. Still having symptoms. Sugar is still up and down, but never in normal range. Am I just being and impatient patient? Thanks, ya'll. :)

Wild idea! Never thought of the ears. They are so full of blood. Thanks!!! I play enough piano to help me learn choir music and a few songs. I had not thought of my piano yet. Eek! Again, thank you so much and God bless you!

Thanks for your post! It really helps me get a better perspective on all this. Sometimes I worry that I might not be able to safely drive. However, I am on tablets (Januvia and MetFORMIN) and monitor my glucose almost daily. I have so much to learn! I don't like finger sticks as I am a...

I was just diagnosed a few weeks ago - landed me in the ER. My sugar has dropped, but I am still very under-educated on this matter. However, my husband has had T2 for years. Maybe we can learn together? Does anyone know of a specific fruit or veggie, etc., that makes a big difference? Thanks.

    TYPE 2

My diabetes showed up in the ER a few weeks ago. The glucose was just over 400 and A1C went from 5.2% a few months ago to 8.1%. I am still learning. Hopefully I will be able to take better care of myself. So much to learn, still . . .
