What’s your hardest struggle with diabetes?

Agree with Mr pot. I've only been diagnosed type 2 less then eight weeks, I felt hard done to and annoyed at times but after reading what some of you people have to go through day after day I, ve really got nothing to moan about. So like Mr pots you have my fullest sympathy.

    Please help me understand

What Daibell said is so right. I was told the same thing, don't bother checking. I bought the recommended one on here asap. It's helped enormously. You really need to know what's going on inside you.

    Type 2 is back

The only other thing I feel confident to talk about is the metformin. When the doctor prescribed it to me. The normal variety not the slow release he started me low. One 500mg a day for a week, then two a day for three weeks, now up to three and maybe because of that I've been lucky as I've had...

    Type 2 is back

Wow I've only been diagnosed this last month but wow reading your food list was amazing. Can I really eat all those things, in moderation I know but I've gone all out, cut out so much its probably a little over the top tbh until the shock and the unknowns subside a bit. But reading that list of...

Newly diagnosed...please does anyone know if volvic sugar free flavoured water is okay to drink

Hi I'm newly diagnosed also. I used to drink the tesco fruit flavoured sparkling waters but for two reasons I stopped. One the plastic issue and the flavoured issue. I went and bought a soda stream, now I have plain tap water all fizzed up which helps me take in just plain water. Helped me get...

    Help needed

Hi Steven, I've ordered the recommended tester and lots of strips and needles from the link on here. I'm also picking up an exercise bike this week, together with my already owned road bicycle and I also use a kayak so I'm hoping between the three I'll get fitter. I do try as best as possible to...

My company don't pay for sickness or medical appointments, not a nice company so not even going to ask them to help me. I wasn't even allowed unpaid leave to visit my wife on the day of her cancer operation so no help there

    Another newbe question

The rice I use was brown basmati mixed in with the salad and the fruit was half an orange and a very small banana with half dozen grapes cut in half. The only fruit I had all day

    Another newbe question

Thanks both of you. Think I'll order my own today as going to need lots more strips. Yes I'm starting to take note of my food intake but with having so few strips can't go mad testing as yet only got a couple left. Steep learning curve is so right!

    Another newbe question

Thanks yes I was given the information and I fully intend to get my own tester, trying one step at a time and seeing the same figure three times I was just wondering as I read so many times on here the figures changing after eating. Hence why I'm asking with not yet being in any form of...

Ickihun I don't know if that comment was directed towards me or not but when I was diagnosed and informed by the doctor he said I'm putting you on this metaformin so you don't need a tester so I wasn't given one. When I had my episode l went back and told them about it and requested one because...
