I was diagnosed at the end of 2012, aged 19, with 'diabetes' but no set type. After pushing for tests, in May 2014, I was finally diagnosed with Type 1. It is not an easy transition to go from eating whatever you like, to counting carbohydrates and injecting insulin before eating. Everyday, I learn more about this condition and I hope to stay as healthy and well as possible for as long as I can. :)
