    Diabetic Maculopathy

i recently had my eye scan and was told by letter that I was showing signs of maculopathy. I have subsequently received an appointment to attend a local eye clinic. I am a bit deflated by this as my blood glucose reading for the past year and a half has been excellent as has my BP and...

    Test Strips

I got the testing solution and my meter is fine so interestingly my readings have gone down from 14's to around 7, hard to work out!

    Test Strips

I use a Glucomen LX, I read the instructions and it does say test every time you start a new lot of strips. I've ordered some test solution and put a new battery in the meter. Hopefully I will now get an accurate reading!

    Test Strips

I recently (on the doctors orders) stared testing myself more regularly. I have been doing this and have been at times alarmed at readings of, on average, 12 -15. Having not tested regularly for some time I used my test strips that have been sitting in the cupboard for around 8 months. I ran...

    Tea and Milk

I had a feeling Metformin was not all that effective, hopefully I can get myself into a better eating pattern ( no snacking) and coupled with the exercise I can get a positive effect on the levels. Thanks for the help and advice

    Tinnitus and dizziness

Yes, unfortunately a lot of doctors don't like people to "self-diagnose". Often people with chronic ailments know more than their GPs, we have to live with it, they don't, so it's a part of our lives 24/7.

    Tea and Milk

Yes I already like fruit teas and I also drink Redbush Tea sometimes, so I am cutting down my caffeine intake. In my bid to lower my levels I am making a real effort to lose a bit of weight, I'm not massively overweight just need to shed maybe a stone. I took a reading this morning and it was...

    Tinnitus and dizziness

I was diagnosed with Menieres last year and I do have all the "classic" symptoms, dizzyness, deafness and tinnitus. However my GP is convinced that this is linked to my Type 2 diabetes. He thinks when my blood sugar is high it triggers the Menieres. I'm not totally convinced but am co-operating...
