    Another Forxiga question

Thanks for your response, I've decided to lower my carbs for a few days and see what happens.

    Another Forxiga question

Thanks for this, pretty much my understanding too, the urge to pee isn't really urgent as such, it just seems to happen more regularly than usual. I am drinking more, not because I feel thirsty, more to counteract possible dehydration. I noticed the process slows down from late evening so...

    Another Forxiga question

Thanks for your response, I was thinking along those lines, will try a couple of low carb days to see what difference it makes.

    Another Forxiga question

My third day of using this, not been too bad, apart from having to pee more often but guess that is how it works, plus the need to drink more to stay hydrated. Anyway now I have started it has raised some questions that I hope some long term users might be able to answer. Does the increased...

    Medication question

It's a pity that the information leaflets don't really mention this aspect. I had originally planned to try and reduce carbs significantly (not that I have had much success in the past) but am now looking at a much smaller reduction just in case. Reading between the lines of the info I could...

    Morning urine test

For some reason I thought the sample had to be reasonably 'fresh' unless you stored it in the fridge before dropping it off. I remember being in the Drs Surgery when someone dropped one off at about 11:30 that they had 'produced' at 07:00 and was asked if they could provide another one.

    Medication question

That's reassuring I guess I will start taking them and see what happens. I am aware that a lot of people gave problems with Metformin which I gave been OK with, so hopefully this will be OK too. I will try and reduce my carbs a bit to try and reduce time spent in the loo.

    Hba1c

Not a fan of avocado, but I do like eggs, just started eating LivLife low carb bread again to try and reduce carbs. I have been eating porridge regularly since I was diagnosed, with an occasional treat of no added sugar muesli. Basically told that porridge was a good option, probably not that...

    Hba1c

Must admit I have been OK with Metformin even on the maximum dose I take the slow release type, if you haven't been given that ask for it. It is much easier to tolerate, at least for me. However I am just about to start Forxiga and the possible side effects look very scary, but I am hoping...

Well done, same age as me wish I had your discipline, I go for walks most days aiming for between 6000/10000 steps per day and do some light weights at home but can't face the gym. Keep it up.

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

Failed today finished at 7:15 running late to cook our evening meal and then prepare/eat dessert. On the plus side dessert was Greek yoghurt (which despite being of Greek extraction I am not a fan of) with a spoonful of frozen berries and a couple of chopped up strawberries and a bit of cinnamon...

    ‘Stop Eating After 7pm’ Challenge

18:50 for me, but I am having a cup of tea (with no biscuit) and looking at my third day with no peanuts as a small snack at around 9:00.

    Treating a hypo whilst dieting.

I am Type 2 and never experienced a hypo, but just about to start taking Forxiga which can occasionally cause low blood sugar. To be honest I will probably carry some Dextrose sweets with me just in case and the last thing I will worry about is a few extra calories. But that is just my...

Eye & Foot Clinic - what to expect?

I find sometimes they use it other times they don't. When I asked the nurse said that some nurses are better at detecting strong pulse manually others prefer to use the machine.
