Was just wandering i love hot and spicy foods since i went on insulin i cant seem to stomach anymore they go right though me is this because if the insulin does anyone else have simular issues or would it be down to dietary changes.

I had bruising for about the first 2 wks of using insluin , it stopped now, still stings every now and then but getting used to now after u weeks.

Think its the case am not taking enough as i was told to take 4 units with my breakfast but i guess the nurse bases portion size at 40g but i eat twice that 80g which has 66g of carbs so based on that am guessing 4 units is not enough.

I just looked it up in paperwork theu gave me 1.0 units insulin to 10gms cho

Just injections , am injecting all round belly trying not to hit same points, or the some of the bruises that they have caused, am using the novo round belly, dont have problem with the glargine which i inject in me behind.am a skinny person so dont have lot of fatty places to inject.

I was wondering is there much difference using different size pen needles i use 4 mm ones other sizes, its getting to the point where its getting painful to use, for example today i stuck the needle in 5 times in different places before i could insulin my self if this keeps up it will put me off...

Suprisely mine was 6.9 this moring not bad considering new year drinking and skipping evening insulin.

My blood lvls have been all over since ive diagnosed range from 4.2 lowest to 27 with avg of 14 an sure it will sort its self out at some point.

Can anyone recommend something suitable for cold and flu , everything i read says dont take if u have diabetes! Can i still use these products or is there something out there more suitable? P.s am a new type 1 was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago still lots to learn thx in advance.
