According to this website nomal blood sugar levels are up to 7.0 mmol, but according to the Mayo Clinic the normal level is 7.8 mmol. How wrong would it be to be guided by the Mayo level?
Many thanks to all who posted replies. The consensus seems to favour concentration on low-carb. I have followed low-carb (40g max per day) for 9 months, and have lost weight (just over 1 stone). I will certainly continue with this diet.
Lucy: thanks for your response. I am not sure I can face doing what you suggest. I will make a start though, and who knows, may continue.
