First Day on Insulin - Slept all morning!

The very same is happening to me. I've just started on Humulin M3 (been on it 3 days). The morning dose is fine, but it's the evening one. I take it, then about 20 mins later I'm fast asleep, to then wake up wide awake 2-3 hours later. I've only just woken up again after taking my evening...

Re: VICTOZA I've been on Victoza for 2 weeks. First week at 0.6 second week 1.2. Has anyone had a stiff neck whilst on it? I'm getting the disturbed sleep pattern (which doesn't help with having depression and anxiety which has been bad this month) and waking up at 5.50 every morning - not...

Re: VICTOZA My doc has told me that there's a trial for another version of this or something so he's referring me for it. Just waiting for the appointment letter. Hope it's as good as Victoza seems. :D

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

I agree, but it's not been one of those things that I've gone out of my way to do anymore. I used to not touch potatoes, or anything that was deemed high carb. I now eat a diet that I think is healthy - I keep off sugary breakfast cereals, stay off rice & pasta because it actually makes me...

Well I take vitamin b5, b6 and b12 daily so might not be that. I think it's just because I crave it so much, and when I'm feeling good and not depressed or anxious I think I can fight it easily (which I can't but I kid myself that I can), then when it hits, I'm all over the place. Doesn't help...

Is a 'low' the same for everyone...

Shaky at around 4.1, way too anxious at around 8 or 9 if I've had a chocolate binge. If not then average is 6.1 over a month and I feel ok.

Who has never seen a consultant?

Well when I was in London, I did. But the care I've had here in Clacton sadly hasn't been that good so I'm fairly reluctant to go and see them. I remember going to the Endo in London though and having a row with him about what he deemed suitable for me, only to see another endo 10 mins after...

    I'm fairly gobsmacked......

I think it's good to test right at the beginning to see what you can eat and what you can't eat. Doctor in London was good with dishing out the strips and lancets but here I get 50 strips a month, which is cool, unless I go wild (like I did a few weeks back and blood sugar went way too high)...

Help! Newly diagnosed and panic stricken

I'm on a rollercoaster myself at the mo - was taking 1500mg with 8mg avandia and bg control was good, went off the rails as was on a diet and couldn't take it anymore so binged for 3 days on chocolate, and no suffering yet again with anxiety - this time it's been over a month :( Taking my...

Hi all, I'm Jackie, 37 originally from London but now in Essex. Have had T2 diabetes since being 16th of November 2001. At the same time diagnosed with PCOS. Was on 1500mg of Metformin and 8mg of Avandia now on 2000mg of Metformin and 8mg Avandia. Since moving here in 2007 (although have...
