Helpful to read this string, thank you. I am a T2...with the additional Coeliac disease. Its the combination of the two that causes grief. With a bit of creativity..can live very well. What really bugs me...is that whatever ailment...its always the diabetes to blame. Broken leg? Diabetes...

You have done a fab job. No doubt about it. Don't let ANYONE tell you differently.

Please do encourage the youngster to bake. Its skills for a life time. However....slice the cake...and wrap a slice in cling film....and freeze it. Then you only get out of the freezer...a piece...and dont have the whole cake waving at you from the fridge.... Apricot the virtuous (and tells fibs!)

Have been settled on the Victoza..(self funded..but thats another story) since September.....and have seen a steady improvement in the readings...holding steady at 5.2 (might be +/- a little)..but far better overall than 12 monhths ago. Thank you to various pieces of advice from correspondents...

My favourite...from a DN nurse specialist..."eat whole meal bread". I am Coeliac ...and laughed at her instructions...and have told this story often to my Coeliac friends... Oh..the other one....always want to measure my waist as a guide to my health. Rest of me is fit...(I swim etc, no bingo...

I am in the office at work...and its a bakery. The aroma is wafting through the rooms...warm, comforting, tempting...rich and glorious...makes you want to get the butter out and sink teeth into a slab of it with plenty of butter on....(and blow the diet..).......you get the picture?? Its easy...

Just to give you all a giggle on this grey Friday... White rabbits... I am writing from my office...in a Bakery...and the aroma of breads is wafting through the offices...its oh so good...and rich, warm comforting...later it will be a small army of gingerbread men.... Thats how you give...

Apologies to Mods if this isnt allowed.... Am a Type 2 and struggling...so am watching my foods carefully...when I eat, what and how much...and Coeliac...and have to be strict with both regimes... When I am busy at work...I nibble...used to be fruit..(just love the stuff...and eat my way...

Am doing my own monitoring by testing..and as I am not allowed strips...I buy on a popular auction site etc. What bugs me...is on the popular site..you can find what are clearly goods supplied on script..openly on sale. OK..its a free choice by those choosing not to test and retain some sort...
