I feel left out when I am out with friends

If they are true friends, they will accept you for what you are, and you will deal with it as and when you need to. If they aren't, find some proper friends who can be a bit mature about it.

    Blood sugar monitoring

The whole situation sucks. Postcode NHS lottery strikes again. My PCT is in breach of the guidelines, and the yare just calling our bluff. If you don't ask, you don't get, and they are playing on ignorance to avoid funding them. HBa1C 6.3 T2

Do I have Diabetes? Concerned :(

You should be able to go to Lloyds tomorrow morning then if you don't want to wait the weekend, but I'd give them a ring first to check. HBa1C 6.3 T2

Do I have Diabetes? Concerned :(

You are a bit young for type 2, but it is not unknown. They would probably start with a urine test, and also take a blood test. If you cannot wait to see one, you could pick up a blood sugar tester in the chemist for between £10 & £15, but make sure you test 1st thing in the morning before...

Do I have Diabetes? Concerned :(

Echo this, I'd book up to see a doc, and ask to be tested. In the mean time, cut out the processed sugar in your diet, or switch to sweeteners. How old are you ? HBa1C 6.3 T2

Lloyds Chemist result - Advice please

The definitive tests are the HBa1C (done at the GP surgery) and glucose tolerance test (done at hospital). These are done if the other tests are returning high results. The Glucose tolerance test returned pre (fasting) test of 6.7, 17.0 one hour post drinking the glucose solution, and around...

Then one sunday morning I had to go to my parents house to do a job for them on an empty stomach, and I went hypo on...

    Leaving the forum!

The biggest problem with this forum is that the Mods aren't given the tools to do their job properly. Sorry Admin, but the problems which were here when I joined up are still here. Spammers are given free rein, and aggressive posters are left unchecked. I think the forum could be a very good...

    Yet Another Newby Rambling

I am very disillusioned by the PCTs attitude in general. The resistance to T2 testing is done purely on cost grounds, and the GPs are complicit in this as they don't question the PCT guidance. They don't give a **** cos at the end of the day its not their body. I think that Nannab is totally...
