My C-Peptide was 3.3 but my fasting glucose was 91. My diet has been low carb since dx. I'm so confused at to what this all means?

So what does a high C-Peptide mean when your fasting blood glucose is normal range?

I can't seem to find the answers after extensive research so I was hoping someone could help me with some questions I have regarding the A1C test. Do hypos factor in the result? If you go low a lot does that make the result lower? Also is there anything besides anemia that can give a false...

Also does being on a OHA effect the result?

I'm just curious if anyone can explain what this test really reveals? My Dr. said it will help determine if I'm Type 1.5 or Type 2.

I would not know as I had mine removed eight years ago when I was non diabetic. I do recall the pain being horrendous. Like the poster above said most infections will increase blood sugars. Hope you feel better soon!

Type 1.5 is late onset of Type 1 basically.

Oh ok that makes sense. How often do you test when you're sick? I was reading it says every 2 to 3 hours which seems like a lot to me.
