Hi Faisal, thanks for asking. I've actually got shingles at the moment so I'm struggling through all this info. After today I decided to go back to my previous healthy diet minus cakes, sweets and the occasional pie. When I'm feeling back on track I'll decide where I'm going with all this.

I reintroduced my carbs when I started losing weight too fast. Until I get my glucose monitor there's no way to tell if my glucose levels have risen. Thanks for the tips on fats. I'll check out your link.

Hi Patsy, my mum had this condition for many years. She too was put on high levels of steroids. These helped her mobility & pain immensely, but she did go on to develop diabetes in later life. I'm not sure what the protocol is for if you are a diabetic prior to steroids. I do know that you do...

Type 2 and new to insulin.

I'm sad that you've had this experience, but sadly it seems its not rare. I was recently on my 1st introduction to diabetes through the Desmond programme. 6 of us were diagnosed in the last 3months, but 1 lady diagnosed 16yrs ago!. I was shocked to here that there was nothing for her then...

What was your T2 diagnosis experience like?

Thanks for this. I've increased my carbs but need to be careful with fats as my cholesterol was high too. I've managed to get it down slightly and made a friend of avocados!

Ok. Initially I cut out everything sugar and all carbs. I was in shock at my diagnosis. But was alarmed at my weight loss so I started re introducing potatoes & wholewheat pasta & wholewheat bread. Then I did the Desmond course and asked there about carbs. They just said I was doing well and to...

What was your T2 diagnosis experience like?

I too refused Metformin. I was diagnosed in March with a HbA1C of 51 that had increased to 52 by June even though I've completely cut out sugar and most carbs. I've rapidly lost weight..too much in fact. I'm now underweight for my height so I'm not sure what to eat without raising my blood...
