What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

10.4 this morning. A wildcard. My cold/flu is now nearly gone but the cough remains. Oh well! Upped my NovoRapid which should work

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.2 Not bad considering I have had the flu since Monday. My readings have been a maximum of 9.6, so well impressed with my insulin

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.6 this morning. However, had a bout of diarrhoea 10 minutes after waking (I had cream in my coffee yesterday, which doesn't agree with me when heated), so rested, only to have a hypo at 1pm. Great day eh

    DKA in type 2

I took Empagliflozin for 4 days then felt ill. By the 5th day, I was rushed to hospital with DKA and ketones of 8.5. I'm now on insulin (Lantus and NovoRapid) which seem to be working fabulously

    Insulin Dosage

Thank you for that. I'm due to see a specialist in December but in the meantime, have been kind of left to my own devices. Incidentally, I did share a small portion of chip shop chips with my mum but also had a ring doughnut. I had a colposcopy this morning, so thought sod it! I took my usual 4...

    Insulin Dosage

Hi there, I'm still learning about using insulin, so please forgive me if this seems like a daft question. I'm on Lantus/NovoRapid. So far, it is working well while watching my carbs. However, I wonder if, when I have more carbs as a one-off, do I just increase the pre-food dose of NovoRapid...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.4 this morning. Had some laser work on my left eye yesterday, which made my numbers lower than normal all afternoon and evening. Unpredictable!

    Operation Advice

Afternoon all, I'm due to have surgery on my hand. I've elected for a local anaesthetic as I prefer that. I wonder, as I use insulin, does having anaesthetic affect blood glucose or insulin? Also, what about food. Do I eat while waiting in the day unit?

Reactive Hypoglycemia How often you check your blood glucose level

4 times a day (before breakfast, before lunch, before dinner and before bed) unless I feel iffy or miscalculated the amount of carbs I have eaten, then I test 2 hours after that meal too

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.5 this morning. However, yesterday I made a miscalculation for lunch and had too many carbs. Luckily, I was down to 6.2 two hours later! You live and learn!

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.7 this morning. The culprit was a low sugar hot chocolate with a milk and water mix at 10pm, resulting in an 8.2 before bed. But heck, it was good!
