When I was a young man I drank Guinness - aboout 4 pints on Sunday nights with my cronies. Now, many, many years later I have the odd glas of Claret with my evening meal and occasionally, I have a bottle of London Pride once a month or less.

When I was diagnosed type 2 in 2002 I was put on Metformin 500 twice daily. I have no knowledge whether the Kidney failure in 2004 was connected to the Metformin, but the first thing my Kidney doctor did was to stop the Metformin instantly incidentally they have now stopped my Glicazide 120...

Whilst browsing through the Forums, I have encountered acronyms which seem to be hard to decipher. BG is simple enough, but what is/are the Hga and Hgb that keep encountering?
