    Tooth loss with type 1 diabetes

    Yes i have had tooth loss i have been a Type 1 diabetic for 19 years and lost lots of teeth in the first few years because of my diabetes i only have 3 teeth left now but you will get used to wearing dentures i had the same problem as you but with time i got used to them .

    I use Accu check mobile lancet device and find it quite good i test my bloods 8 to 10 times a day i have been using this device for about 10 years .

    Is Dry Skin A Symptom Of Diabetes?

    Hi have very dry skin and was told it goes with being diabetic but i have psoriasis in my scalp and was told by my doctor it was heridatry so dont know if that is linked with diabetes but i didnt suffer until i was diagnosed.

    Should Lucozade be exempted from the sugar tax?

    I think it should be exempt as it does work quickly i have been woken up in the middle of the night with a hypo and its easier to take lucozade than crunch through some gluco tabs.

    Hi i have been on a pump for 8 years i have had the same problem as you check canula site and try it somewhere else also i have given a injection manualy to bring blood glucose down just keep an eye on your ketones hope this is helpfull .

    Put on statins, have questions

    I have been on statins since I was diagnosed 16 years ago and my colestrol is below 2 it wasn't high to start with I haven't had any problems with taking them but everyone is different I discuss it with my diabetic nurse

    Would you prefer to be on insulin injections or on a pump?

    I have been on a pump for nearly 9 years its been realy good it has given me back my life after suffering so many hypos for years the pump has reduced these greatly would strongly recommend it

    I have been on a pump for 9 years and its the best thing ive ever done but your son is young but I do know children have been put on them its a bit hard going the first couple of months but the advantages are worth it
