I am 69 years old, living in outback South Australia, i have had diabetes for 18 years.
In the early years i struggled to keep levels under control, i read a lot about food and the effects on diabetes, and i am able to keep my levels good, i am not able to come off metformin, although i reduce them where i can. My goal has always been to keep off insulin.
