    Reactive Hypoglycemia Misery

Personally, I would definitely contact the airline and get advice. I have peanuts as a snack which also lowers my bg if I'm a running a tad high. I have had these onboard in the past, but now understand that they and other foods are currently BANNED on flights, due to allergic reaction to...

    donating blood?

I do understand your anger at how you were made to feel. Some time ago, I had to tick yes to a question regarding an annual heamaglobin investigation I had years ago. I had been tested for everything and all came back negative everytime. But the nurse said they would not accept my blood as I...

Type 2 EASY WAY TO CHECK CARB INTAKE

I also use both...all food labels and the app I mentioned above to calculate my daily intake. As long as data is double checked against one another, one has a better understanding of how quickly carbs can add up. The app I use can also instantly tell be if certain foods are keto friendly by...

    donating blood?

I'm not quite sure what you are asking. I donate blood and I am T2. However, I am not on medication and diet controlled. Although my blood glucose level raises initially for a couple of weeks afterward, I feel this is a small price to pay for helping toward saving someone's life! The criteria...

Type 2 EASY WAY TO CHECK CARB INTAKE

I use the Carb Manager App on my phone. The scan feature for food nutrition data is an absolute god send....saves so much time! Before this I used to calculate in my head, but once I started putting in data, I soon realised I had been seriously underestimating my total amount of carbs I had...

    Blood donations

How are your levels now? I was struggling to get mine lower than 7or 8's. 13th day now for me since donating blood. Today I'm getting levels of six and just hit the higher 5's. They're not quite as low as pre donation, but coming down all the same. There is no sign of me coming down with...

    Blood donations

That's very interesting as I too donated blood last week and ever since have had much higher levels than normal, particularly my morning levels...even though my diet has not changed since. I have been confused as to why, but perhaps it is linked to donating blood after all.

    What's the difference?

My point exactly. Yes, I too have decaf. I think egg cookers are at most cookware shops...Google should give you places near you. It boils generally 1-6 eggs at a time. I generally cook 6 at a time so they are ready each morning. Plug it in, place your eggs, pour a measured amount of water...

    What's the difference?

I think I'm replying this right... I am very new to posting on this forum...trial and error I suppose. Bluetit1802...oh, that's interesting, and I will definitely take on board those tips. I had no idea so thank you. Mine are not available online, but I always ask for printouts of every result...

    What's the difference?

I agree and we are all different, as I have found with myself. Some can eat things I can't, and vice versa. I personally don't get get a spike whatever the length of time. Nothing is straightforward with diabetes though, as I have found out by continually monitoring!

    What's the difference?

Thank you Squire Fulwood. I agree with you fully. The fact that no-one asked me to fast or if I'd eaten just makes me wonder how they were interpreted. I will certainly question it. Having said that, my GP did say that once someone is coded diabetic, it cannot be removed at all. They can put a...

    What's the difference?

Thank you Bluetit1802. It's taken a lot of research (thank you so much to all have contributed on this forum), willpower and change of buying what I now know is wrong food products. Used to think my shopping trolley was full of healthly balanced foods, very little fat. Never did I ever think...

    What's the difference?

Thank you everyone...this is one area where I have become confused because I felt if I was thinking the same as yourselves. So, my tests would not be true reflection of my fasting levels as I'd eaten prior to the tests. All tests have to be done in the morning after I'd eaten, but I was never...

    What's the difference?

Hi Blutit802 It actually says on my results Plasma glucose level. If it was as you suggest above, surely this would an incorrect result as I had eaten etc. Is there any way I can get this checked. I thought it was strange last year as my GP was delighted with my June 18 result of HbA1c, but...

    What's the difference?

Thank you Rachox. I was diagnosed Feb 2018 and tested again June 2018. Just had my annual check. The reason I ask is that on my first 2 HbA1c test last year, I notice I had a Plasma Glucose level check ( 1st 12.8mmol/l and the 2nd 7.4mmol/l), but not on my this year's annual check up. I just...
