Thank you for replying. They are offering a 14 free trial on freestyle libre so I may have to give it a go. I haven’t been testing when I wake as I didn’t want to disturb my husband but I will have to. I think it must be hypo’s as I wake up sweating sometimes. Maybe a snack before bed will help...
Thank you for your reply. I would prefer not to take medication to sleep as I don’t want to become dependent on it. My mood is generally fine although the lack of sleep starts to take it’s toll and I worry how I’m going to get things done with the sleep deprivation. Does having a snack before...
Hi
I was just looking for some advice on how to combat waking up at 3am every night. I was diagnosed during pregnancy which I think was a misdiagnosis and the hospital thinks I may now have MODY. I am awaiting genetic testing results. I managed my diabetes with diet for around 3 years with a low...
Oh ok. Thanks for this. She must have thought the result was the post 2 hour result. I never had the lucozade or post 2 hour result taken as the fasting one was so high.
Thank you for this. The prices seem a lot more reasonable.

Thank you everyone for your wide ranging views. Lots to think about. I’m still getting my test strips on the nhs due to my maternity exemption. Will make sure I stock up before that runs out. I may have to look into getting a different machine after that though.
I just wondered how often everyone tested their blood sugars when they were settled into a low carb regime. Once you know you are ok with your regular meals is there any point in still testing on a daily basis unless you try something new?
I don’t make a fuss but because I don’t fit the mould of a typical type 2 diabetic (I’m thin and in my 30s) and people see I’m avoiding certain foods, they think I’m on a fad diet and I’ve got an eating disorder or are obsessed with my weight. They then start offering foods I can’t eat I think...
Yeah I've stopped drinking too but I am conscious of being called boring at every social occasion. I have had enough comments about how the LCHF diet is no life to lead already!
Thank you. I have started testing first thing now. My fasting blood sugars have been in the 5s for the past week now so I'm very pleased. I would like to thank everyone for their advice.
