Feeling a bit brighter today. Saw the diabetic specialist this afternoon. He said he is leaving me just on the metformin for 3 months and then may put me on glicklazide 40mg. But wanted to see if diet and netformin would work first.

I just keep thinking if this is for the rest if my life I don't think I can do it. I'm 52. My parents are in their 80's if I live that long it another 30 years. That's so long.

I found out that i was diabetic about a month ago. My hba1c is 11.6. All I can think about is diabetes. When I eat I think about it. When I sit at work I think about it. Does this ever pass. I resent it. I hate it. It is ruling my life. I feel so sad that I have it. I am taking metformin 2000mg...

As a newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I found this thread really useful and will be trying out some of the ideas. I find the in between snacks the hardest. Have been eating bread sticks and cheese twists. Pistatios

Thank you all for the helpful advise. I am on a mission now to concentrate on what I can have and not worry about what I cant have. Just thinking of the cant have as poison. :crazy:
