    Eyesight

I had problems with my vision when first diagnosed. It improved and then worsened. I purchased new glasses only to find them totally unsuitable within a few weeks. Once my sugar levels reduced my eyes returned to my previous prescription. So beware before you invest in any costly new specs.

I too was putting wt on with gliclazide, I raised the issue with nurse during my 12 month review and requested that sitagliptin be prescribed in place of the gliclazide. She advised that NICE recommended the use of gliclizide, I pointed out that gliclizide is not recommended for overweight...

I continually suffer from dry sore throats. I take metformin and gliclazide and wondered if it could be a side effect with one or both of these. Does anyone experience the same problem? My bg is reasonably well controlled. Last hba1c 41.

Re: What's the best way to bring up low blood I take 80mg Gliclazide and 2000mg metformin. My latest Hba1c was 41 and Random Glucose 4.0 (I was 117 at diagnosis in Feb 13) As I have had a few readings less than 4 the DN (herself a diabetic) has suggested that I experiment myself with the...

I have been on the DESMOND COURSE and found that the majority of the content of the course is contained in www.type2diabetesandme.co.uk e training modules. Excellent source of info and has self assessment Q&A section which DESMOND does not. Having experience of using both, I prefer the e modules...

    Diverticulosis

No I do not but perhaps I should also have added that I stopped smoking and drinking in July 2012 after having lost 1.5 stone on slimming world diet. This may have helped the diverticulitis symptoms. I then put 2 stone on until I started to diet again in jan 2013, I followed the slimming world...
