Hi.
My name's Scott. I come from a family who's tree is littered with men who had heart disease, strokes, a list of ailments that were probably caused by diabetes and which led to a premature death.
It's less than ideal.
Anyway, an unhealthy lifestyle has meant that I was diagnosed as diabetic at 40.
It may be an understatement to say that given my family history, I should try to do something sooner rather than later. I'd rather not die early if I can avoid it.
I'm 44 next month and so today, I've begun the blood sugar diet and an exercise regime. No guts, no glory as they say.
The reason I mention it is that the more people I inform, the more pressure I have on me to go for that walk, put down that bottle of beer and not open that packet of crisps. If (as the evidence seems to suggest) I can put diabetes into remission, I think it's worth a shot. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
