Hi Ellie, I have a meter and a Type 1 daughter so very familiar with DKA sadly, at the first signs I'll take appropriate action :)

So bloods taken and as predicted hba1c has gone back up! Was 78 then 58..and now after 34lb weight loss with waist measurement decreased by 22cm my hba1c has gone up to 70! So frustrating! The nurse who took bloods was the diabetic nurse and she was great, totally got where I was coming from...

Yep totally agree, I suggested worth checking but was dismissed out of hand as no spring chicken and not exactly slim (nurse's words!) Low carb was working but suspect honeymoon period? I'll try and get GP to test but will go privately if I have to - had to do this with my thyroid too to...
